Just to throw some shit in the mix here, the very first KNOWN computer was the Antikythera Machine, found over 100 years ago by a sponge diver off Greece, and is over 2000 years old. Go figure THAT one out and who stole what from whom!!! LOL

Macs are great, my grandma has one because they are easy to use. I would have one but the $2500+ for a Mac Pro desktop is way too much.

My first Mac was $400 including an external hard drive, thousands worth of music and art software, keyboard and mouse.

My current iMac was $790, which I paid back over time. You just need to look hard and know what you want. I used to be a total PC fangirl, because my daddy was a technician and built me my first PC when I was 7, and used PC all through school/college. Then I got a Mac, lol

Even now, I get frustrated with the PC suite at university, and Adobe Flash seems to lag and spazz out on Windows 7. At the film studio, half the computers are PCs running 7 or Vista and they are they are more unstable than a PMSing woman.

I'm not saying PCs are shit because Macs are better, just... full of shortcomings...

Linux is for nerds, t just makes me thinks of lines of scary boring code XP <3

There is a huge difference between these two. Companies come out with new products which are modeled after the first-to-markets all the time. Would Microsoft have thought of Windows were it not for Apple's implementation of Xerox's platform? Probably, eventually. A graphical interface for personal computing was an inevitability.

that sounds like a personal problem you by crap you get crap.... don't complain when you buy a $300 pc and compare it to a $2500 mac & trying to say macs are better.

A $2500 pc would wipe the floors with any mac.

Best processor available on market
64 Gb of 1333 ram
Best graphics card available on Nvidia market GTX 590



The mac $5000 >> for the 64 gb ram $8,550

Two processor chips that almost add up to 12 thread Intel i7 but duo processor are like having to retards fight each other slowing down actually speed.
Still a very good CPU just not as good

A laughably small 6 GB of ram ( it dose have lots of slots so capable of 64 but who know how much mac wants for that)> i just looked $3,550

A ATI 5770 HD that is about 4x weaker than the GTX 590

Mac's OS is undeniably more stable, but I haven't seen BSOD in quite a while (Before XP). I like Linux (Ubuntu or MINT), but a PC with an i7, an ATI or Nvidia dual core vid card, and 64 gigs of RAM will blow the doors off most anything out there for under $3500. In order to get the same thing in a Mac, you'd have to take out a note bigger than you took out for your car.

the college computers are unstable because their computers did not cost an arm and a leg, the same computer you need to run mac software.

stick windows 7 pro in to your mac and try that, anyone can build a brilliant powerful computer add a half decent operating system and it will be as fast as shit off a shovel.

and then call it the best operating system in the world.

i am an ordinary person,
in an ordinary home,
with an ordinary salary,
with an ordinary brain,
who surfs ordinary web sites,
with windows 7 pro, an hp compaq compaq laptop 17" screen 4 gb of ram 2.1ghz duel core processor, only paid £400 for it.
why the fuck would i spend my hard earned cash on a super mac laptop that would cost me the price of a nice second hand car ?????.
and do the same job ???

hmm, spend 2000 bucks on a pc and you will get a superstable computer and more powerful than a mac.


you can choose every component.

and there is a great difference. (my motherboard has a 10 year guarantee.. (and cost 50 bucks more..)(some sort of military grade technology (made to take a beating and to be stable (which says alot about many other motherboards)


you need to know what you are buying and what you are doing (my computer has crashed 2-3 times in the last 4 years (Every time it was because of some pirated game(2-3 times and was because of some setting (in other words i changed the settings bit and it was fine)

my experimental music program sometimes crashes (freeware) when its dealing with some 1gb per effect effect (using 1 or 2 other complex effects along with it) but thats due to the programming and never crashes windows.

i havent seen a blue screen since windows 98.

(well, i saw blue screens on some xp machine my daddy owned, cheap mobo and he´s "not particularily good with computers" (" son , its not turning on!" "dad, have you tried checking the cables?")


why dont i use macs?

well, they have nothing on them to use and they are very expensive for what you get (and mac today is basically a pre put together pc with a different os)

...so, its like a buying a good pc with 200% markup in price that most anything, Wont run on.

nothing i use anyway.

but, sure, it might fit some other people, so lets just leave it at that :)
 
YOu can also choose every component if you build your own. It's really pretty straight forward actually. And for the Stephaniesloans of the world, there is always Linux (Ubuntu, Mint, etc) FREE OS's, that are more stable and very few if any viruses. Linux rocks. I'll never go back to windows.
 
Steph, My point was macs are not worth it. sorry if you couldnt understand sarcasm. paid 580 for my HP laptop, came with vista, upgraded to a new pirated windows 7, and yes I can update it if i choose. Arguing over which is better is pointless, hence why I am not arguing, I dont give a rats ass what anybody buys. I learned a long time ago, that people dont listen, so do what you want, believe me Im not trying to convince anybody to do anything, I dont care enough to convince anyone.
I got a sweet lappytop that works great, if some douche wants to spend 4 times more for half the puter, what do I care, I just shake my head and laugh....
