Yeah, it's like a bad workman blaming his tools for the shoddy job he's done.
That's about as simple a truth there could be. No autos are not easy, and i have no idea where people think they are for new growers, but they are nowhere as bad or low quality as people make them. They are just very hands off plants. You can top and train them(i top most of mine, though they are usually taller Sativa dom or Hybrids so i don't hinder it much), but you can also just feed lighter than you would a photo and watch her grow. People always want to do way too much. Get in the tent and measure this and that and find supposed "perfect" formulas of nutes and angles orlf lights and on and on. If you just plant it and ignore it except to feed/water, maybe leaf tuck/top carefully/tie down branches and you get plants like Buddy's and some other growers that get good plants. Big factor too is genetics. Money rules the world. Can't eat or live without money and therfore new growers buy the 1st company that shows up on Google for autoflowers and get the cheapest seeds which are usually bad genetics. Pair that with the constant fondling of the plant and you get a 6" main bud that dries to 2 grams in a 1 gal of some Miracle Grow and than all of a sudden, autos are shit.

Yeah, a lot of people over-think them and obsess about yield, spending a ton of cash on shit they don't need.

To be honest I would like to see a full fledged grow journal from you or at least keep this thread up to date with every training you do with you plants ... I would love to follow and learn/replicate what you do ... you got your stuff sorted out pretty well ! I am going to start my first ever grow soon with autoflowers so I wanna see what exactly you do :bigjoint:

Practice with Regs under 12/12 from seed , it will give you a similar type of grow .
No overthinking needed. Autos need very little as far as “ feeding “ .... no complicated mixes or multi bottles.
A good already ammended soil will carry all the way til chop with minimal tweaks.
Host medium will power plant for weeks .... alone.
Then you can top dress either with same or a “ hotter mix “ like FFOF and water in.
Alternative that is also stupid simple is a tablespoon or so ( depending on container size ) of Dry fertilizer.... like Dr. Earth Premium gold , Flower girl , Happy Frog fruit and flower , Tomato Tobe , etc.

Not miracle grow , as it feeds “ at every watering “ with slow release Nutes ....

Most autos go 90 days ( + or - ) .... that is why over the top feeding is not required . More experienced sometimes go with teas and soil drenches , but allowing host medium to do all the work up front is the easiest method.
