Zimmerman-Martin Case

Would like to know your views on this case. Please, PLEASE, No racial comments; that is not what this is about. I'll start with my personal opinion.

I for one do believe that Zimmerman acted in self defense. And what is it with people saying that he wasn't arrested till 46 days after the incident happened? Everything that I have learned about the law tells me this; Once you are in handcuffs, and are taken into custody you are in fact "under arrest." The reason why he was released was because they couldn't find any evidence that stated that he killed him in cold blood.

I know this is a sensitive subject, but please try to keep it civil.

We may never really know the truth. Did Zimmerman harrass the kid to the point he felt he had to fight to defend himself? Did it go down like Zimmerman said?

The lesson here, is that when there is only one side of a story, there is only one side of a story. Shoot to kill.

i think he should have never gotten out of the vehicle as he , was not on shift and had no actual proof of any crime being commuted also police were on the way

and he was already told not to work as a neighborhood watch captain with a firearm, and he knew better hes the adult

if ever anyone should have due restrain it should have been Zimmerman as he was in control, Martin didnt what was happening untill he and Z were talking to one another

oh ya murder 2 is a stretch, i know manslaughter with a deadly weapon is more than likely the charge that fits my view of the crime

I myself have a carry permit and by chance somehow have the same exact gun that was used in the altercation. I have only had to pull mine out once so far and it ended with me not having to shoot anyone. Thankfully.

I think what pisses me off the most about this whole situation is that our dumbass president took it upon himself to get involved, talking about how martin looks like his son. He should have left that shit alone. He never singles out any other individual that gets murdered and it happens everyday. All that did was create a bigger outrage. Another thing that bothered me in the beginning, was that they were showing martin as a 10yo kid and Z in orange shirt that looked like a jumpsuit.

Zimmerman is an odd little man. He went out to kill that young black boy.

Taxi Driver case ... he would have been standing in front of the mirror role playing that thing and talking to himself.
he couldn't contain himself anymore. George Zimmerman left the safety of his house that day knowing he was going to shoot, To Kill.

Premeditated Murder. Zimmerman is a menace to society.

i just dont get how they're tryin to say its a race crime. clearly says more than once zimmerman was in a multiracial family. im honestly gettin really tired of this race shit on this earth. when are ppl gonna realize we're all floatin on this rock together an the color of your skin means nothin. just like bigsby said tho its easier to get off if there's only one side of the story. sucks the kid had to die tho an honestly the dude should be in jail. you just dont shoot someone that tries to fight you an is un-armed.

It's really hard to know what really happened within this case.
I don't think that he went out with the intention to kill Martin. If it was me and I was a watch captain and was told not to carry my firearm while on duty, I would just leave it in my truck. I go no where without my firearm.

From what I understand, there were a lot of break ins around that neighborhood and that is why they had the program to begin with. I can understand why Z got upset that when the operator told him not to follow him after he said; they are always getting away. < From personal experience when trying to keep someone from hurting someone else, like a clearly drunk driver, and you call the non emergency line to tell them, hey there is this person weaving all over the road and what not and no officer ever shows up, it gets aggravating.

I understand what your saying and I agree to an extent. But the fact of the matter is, if someone threatens your life or you feel as if your life is in danger you are allowed by law to use deadly force if necessary.

If Z would have kept his ass on the phone with the operator till the police arrived, he either one, would not have been attacked. Or second the call would have shown what really happened. Why didn't the operator keep him on the call till the cops arrived? That's what I want to know.

thats what he shoulda did stayed on the line an followed the kid or kept an eye on him if he thought he was goin some fishy shit. who knows why the operator didnt he coulda just hung up on em. to me thou feelin that your life is in danger is too vague. he coulda been catchin an ass whoppin an shot the kid cause he was mad at that which isnt right at all to me. not like the kid woulda beat him to death he prolly woulda fought till he knocked em out an then ran. did the dude have a permit for the gun to have it on him? i dunno about fl laws, but in louisiana you can have it in your car without any kinda permit, but to have it on you you have to have a concealed weapons permit or just not give a fuck.

Yea, here where I'm at we don't even have to conceal it. We can wear on the outside of our clothes like the police, but your asking for trouble if you do that.

So you mean to tell me that if your head was being slammed against the ground you wouldn't think that could kill you? Or at the very least put you in a coma? " not trying to be a smartass, just asking"

and this is why you just have to think about all of it

and that it could have been avoided, by the man with the responsibility to make those decisions

cold blooded murder more then likely not, but misuse of authority and power yes

no smartassness detected lol i mean if the kid was goin ham on his ass like that i can see the justification but he had a bloody nose an two cuts? that doesnt seem too life threatenin to me.

thats the thing we were there and we weren't getting beat up, what we can all agree on as it was avoidable and in the easiest ways like not chasing after someone you know not to have committed a crime

racial profiling should be illegal(if its not already a crime) for this exact reason

Did any of you listen to the 911 call? I listen to the whole thing and it seemed to me that when the operator told him not to follow him, he was like oh ok. I may have misunderstood. But if he did in fact say that it seems to me that he stopped following him.

the argument for that is that hey are not the police, only trained operators. like that makes any difference after his ignorance of sound advice resulted in a unnecessary death

thats the crime i believe, it was a unnecessary death due to the profiling of martin by zimmerman

well a crooked nose an possible death arent in the same ball park to me. if he did stop followin him how'd he get his face fucked up? an if he was gettin beat up that badly how did he have time to pull a gun an shoot is my question. an why not shoot in a non-letal area? i just listened to it an he sounded a little fucked up. so some dudes walkin in the rain maybe he was in a bad mood smoked some an said fuck it im goin for a walk rain or not. how does he know the kid was fucked up? an the kid walks towards him reachin for somethin than runs? sounds like some bullshit to me honestly esp with that comment "these assholes always get away." sounds like he had somethin planed in his head already.

some of his previous behaviors towards blacks, and his words" these guys always get away" he was definitely already assumed that martin was one of the robbers in the thefts in the neighborhood because he was black, noting that there have been a lot of break ins, if you listen to the words he ues to describe someone he has seen do nothing wrong but being there, black and unknown were enough for his conviction why else chase him down . . .? if you didn think he was up to no good

Depends on how you get hit in the nose. If you take the palm of your hand and shove it upwards into someones nose, it will push the nose bone into the brain killing said person. Head being slammed into the ground could also possible kill someone.

This is coming from zimmerman, but from what I understand, after he got off the phone martin came up to him and asked what his problem was and so fourth. Punched him and Z fell to the ground and that point martin jumped on top of him hitting him and slamming his head into the ground. During this process apparently martin seen his gun after his jacket came open during the altercation while martin was on top on him and he said that martin said " tonight is the night you die" and reached for his gun. At that point zimmerman grabbed in before he got the chance and shot him in the chest.

Once again, that is what zimmerman said happen while he was demonstrating what happen. So whether or not it's true idk.
