Zelensky: Martyr or Exile?

Ukraine is being described as the "corn chamber" with its wide fields and flat topography - that can be easily controlled. Also, much wide distances with large cities in between.
Usually its mountain terrain that is best suited for a backdrawal of partisan combat

Without direct NATO intervention it's hard to see Ukraine not fall. One thing we don't know is how many Russian troops are busy trying to control the uprising in Kazakhstan and if the whole central Asian area is unstable and how many troops will be needed to keep order. It's one thing for the mad midgets military to kill and destroy and another to occupy and mainttain order after, the numbers don't work, Russia doesn't have the manpower.
The math just doesn't add up for poot-poot.

The cities will be more fruitfull for resistance. But the fields will likely be a battlefield too. Modern man-portable missiles seem to be flooding in. I fear it will be ugly.

Ronald Regan is considered to be the father of the ballooning modern deficit. Not trying to start 'this' but as a quick backup let me point out Bush Sr. eating his words, 'Read my lips. No new taxes.' He took the medicine for Regan's policies and Bill Clinton reaped the 'last president to have a budget surplus' reward.

The point is Regan inadvertently bankrupted the Soviet Union who thought they had to 'keep up with the West'. Putin is in far worse shape now with the targeted sanctions. I'm afraid Putin will pound the Ukraine to dust rather than be seen as a loser but the point of can he hold it? I agree, he can't.

The ground is mud and will be for weeks, arms are pouring in Ukrainians are training and organizing, with NATO support and with old surplus soviet arms they can have a million man regular army (lot's of help with training) and millions of partisans armed to the teeth with NATO surplus soviet weapons including a lot of RPGs. Vlad invaded at the beginning of Mud season and the roads choked with his logistics, will soon be lined with IEDs. He will need time to prepare too, he never had a plan B and will need to reassess and reorganize. He can't afford 50 days of war and that's what it will take to get a start on something big enough to take just eastern Ukraine, east of the Dnieper river, but I don't think he can do even that.

Welp, according to MSNBC, Putin just cut power (they didn't word it this way) to Chernobyl. So I am guessing it is going to be Martyr, but it is hard to know who will be left to be a martyr for.

Hard to not get fatalistic about this at this point.

China needs to step up and put an end to Putin's shit.
experts say that Chernobyl is no longer that dangerous. you don't want to be too close to the facility, but the worst of it has already been neutralized by the passage of time. it would be a lot better if it was still in Ukrainian hands and being dealt with properly, but it can't spew radioactive clouds across EU anymore, and as long as you stay a mile or so away, the count is far under lethal

The mad midget knows this,he's ex KGB not some dumb farmer. So is he truly mad or did he make the worlds biggest miscalculation of all time on a bluff?
at first i thought he was crazy, but more than one russian ex official has said that they think the oligarchs have been stealing money for years, and filing false reports to their superiors about where the money went...it is quite possible he has been mislead and thought he had a much larger, better trained force than he actually has. he may have actually expected his army to march in and capture the whole country in a few days, but his whole army is using worn out vehicles, riding on worn out tires, is made up mostly of conscripts, and who knows, maybe one of the reasons he isn't flying many missions is that they discovered that their air force isn't in any better shape?
i do know he looks decidedly unhappy lately, not the expression of someone who has the world by the balls...

I've worried the whole time, he and his family are going to end up on some liveleak type site and it's going to rip the heart out of the entire world. If that happens, I think ww3 is unstoppable.

The MREs the conscripts had expired in 2002, before many were born and he had months to prepare for this operation and line up his ducks. Word is he personally directed it, or they were saying that in the beginning, he had no clue about the condition of his military, or about the Ukrainians and their preparations, or about the international reaction that was unleashed on him. His many enemies both large and small are emboldened by his blunders and weakness. Courage is very contagious too, that is a fact recently demonstrated in Ukraine by the leadership and people.

This whole thing must be burning Vlad's asshole like battery acid and he is most unhappy and somewhat fearful, Vlad is not mad, just pissed and getting desperate. He has been humiliated and made a fool of bigtime and knows it, he watches western media, speaks English and German too, if his own people won't tell him the truth, western media will do it while pissing him off to no end, the spies of the world that he had by the nuts are laughing at his stupidity. All his buddies know he's a blundering idiot too and that's gotta hurt...

As you can see in America, at least one in three people are of such poor character that they will betray the others in exchange for personal power or privilege.

There are plenty of Ukrainians that will suppress their own countrymen and those people can count on Russian military strength to back them up.
Right, as the nazis and others showed throughout history it doesn’t actually take 1 occupier to control 1 occupied. If an occupied town resists by killing outnumbered occupiers, or kills just a single pro-russian collaborator in charge of thousands, simply rape, murder and burn the entire town to set an example. Ukranians will stop Ukranians from killing Russian occupiers because they know Russia will commit atrocities as revenge. Russia represses 140million people daily, they are experts. Yet some claim Ukraine won’t win the conventional war but will end up winning by continuous resistance once occupied… if you’re willing to stretch the meaning of winning that is.

They will try to put everybody in concentration camps behind their lines, they will need to, the trouble is, everybody and I mean everybody will be armed with an AK47 or and RPG or have them buried, by the time the Russians try it. The population will be armed to the teeth with former soviet arms that are flowing into eastern Ukraine by the hundreds of tons 24/7 and they are carrying surplus soviet arms that NATO got stuck with. There are millions of small arms, plus RPG's Mortars and ammo for them, many older men who will be left in the villages on their lines of advance are former soldiers who need no training with these weapons packages delivered to their towns and villages. The can use captured Russian ammo and the best part is the Russians paid for the weapons that will be used to kill most of them.

unless putin starts operating on an entirely different level, he's fucked. there's no way he can take the country, all he can do is destroy it. they'll kill every soldier he sends in, as long as any Ukrainians survive.
if he's holding back his best men and equipment against nato involvment, he better get over that and start using them, or he 'll get his troops dead or captured. if he does use them, he better step careful as fuck, and not get NATO involved, because they would slaughter his fucking ass
they may take the donbas and the strip of land between there and Odessa, but they won't be able to keep it for long. i don't think the Ukrainians will be in a mood to be gracious hosts at that point.
