You won't solve my 600W HPS Bubbler grow issue

yeah mate u said u didnt do a full flush i would highly recomend u do. you have most definitely been overfeeding and although you dont seem to be suffering classic nute burn symptoms of burnt tips and crispy leaves it sounds like your high ppm has caused a salt lockout, u need to flush with clean water no nutes or with something ike florakleen would be even better to break the salt bond. then start again with nutes at like 100-150ppm. the next day after u add nutes test the ppm in your res, if it has gone up you are overfeeding if it has gone down you can feed a little more and if they stay the same u are spot on ok

So far I have flushed the RW twice (today and two days ago) with distilled and pHd water. The ambient air temperature is hovering around 77 deg F. and I'm still waiting on my res thermometer to arrive.

@forget, I will do a full flush when my nutes arrive with my thermometer. I JUST ran out.

Here are some pics I just took of the girls, 21.7 days since germination (3 weeks). They seem to be doing better but still no roots shooting out from the net pots.

Yo, Clean

Here is the deal man. 150 ppm of grow was a good number, return to it.

At this point in the grow you are NOT in DWC. You are growing in rockwool/ hydroton with topfeed by hand. That means that you need to water them from the top 3 or 4 times a day, by hand or with pumps. After you see lots of roots hitting the rez, then you are in DWC.

Use your Dynagro grow/bloom and some proteck. With your well water you won't need epsom or mag pro, or any of that stuff.

If you struggle to get the temps of your rez down ( after roots hit it) check out this product. http://www.dutchmaster.com.au/?language=english&page=product&product=ZONE

It will help ward off root rot. Do not put any other weird shit in the rez, just dynagro and zone.

Do not exceed 1.0 EC, and shoot for .8EC during adult growth.

That is it bro. It'll work for ya. Works for me.

I use top feed over DWC and love how its working

The rockwool is staying moist without me watering them at all. With that in mind, should I water them with pHd water with no nutes or with nutes at 150ppm?

The real problem is that you are feeding with Grow nutrients and not "bloom"

The bloom nutrients have never let me down when cloning. Then switching to grow when they take hold 150ppm is good until they have small roots then jump that to 300 then once they have 6 or more leaves ur good for 600ppm

Prince, you ever run dynagro a 600ppm? I did and they burnt

Here are pics I took half an hour ago. As you can see they are finally doing better a the roots are finally starting to protrude through the net pots. I have been top feeding them once a day with water with ~160ppm of nutes at a pH of 5.8. I will start feeding them 2x a day, today, until they get a solid root system. I will probably start a new thread for this grow. Thanks everyone for your help.

they are lookin much better.
you can not go wrong with multiple top feedings per day.

I would like to make this thread my grow journal for this grow so if the Mods could move it to the right area, I'd appreciate it.

As for the girls, I've ran into some problems...again. I can't figure out if they are being over-fertilized or they are nutrient deficient this time. They have stunted growth and some of the leaves are developing rust spots and curling upward whilst yellowing. The pH of all of them is ~5.7-5.8. The ppm is about 320. For the front, right plant (displayed in the picture showing all 5 of them) I diluted the PPM to about 150 to see if it would help but it hasn't (I did this 2-3 days ago). Not sure what to do at this point.

Are you changing your nutes out weekly? when running low ppm I feel it is a good idea to give them a fresh batch every week. Your new growth looks nice and healthy, so I would keep on going with your .8 ec mix. (depending on meter, about 400ppm).

what brand of nutes? what additives?

I'm flushing every week to 1.5 weeks. The nutes are Dyna-gro grow and the only additives as of now are pH up and down. I'm waiting on the Dutch Master Gold Zone to arrive (hopefully tomorrow). Here's the link <http://www.dutchmaster.com.au/?language=english&page=product&product=ZONE>. There has not been any new growth on 3 out of the 5 plants in the past couple of days, which is why I am confused. Also, there is some browning of the roots, as shown in the pictures (no smell), which also led me to believe it was over-fertilzation. Also, some of the roots almost looked dried-out and thinned at the tips.

I don't think it is over fertilizing at your ppm level. Are they being hammered by a fan?

don't flush every week, just change nutes and top feed with some fresh nutes at that time.

Have you connected your buckets with tubing to a 6th bucket away from the grow? this will make nute changes a breeze.

Your plants leaves look like they are very happy, at least the newer leaves. Don't do anything drastic to them. When you get your DM zone start with just 1 ml per gallon.

@burrr Do you mean at the 320ppm level or 150ppm level? The inline fan that is connected to the 600W HPS hood is drawing in air directly from INSIDE the tent. I originally had it drawing air from outside the tent but had to switch it because it was the only way to keep the temps 15 deg cooler. This is also causing the humidity to drop to ~15-25%, which is probably why some of the leaves are folding upward? I have not connected to a 6th bucket. From what I have read, I would have to drill holes at the bottom of the current buckets and am worried about leaks.

@gangjaman I'm using tap water with about 45ppm, fresh out the faucet.

Clean, keep running with the 320ppm, even ramp it up a little when you change the res.

You will not be able to change your rez very easy once those girls get big. I've never had major leaks from my tubing.

I just added more nutes to the res buckets and now they are all at 400-420PPM. I also added 1 teaspoon of the DM zone per 5 gallon bucket. I will update on how they're doing either tonight or tomorrow with pics.
