fyi, i was just trolling with the seeds question :D

Anyways a serious question, how does flushing improve the taste of the plant? How would it "flush" out the nutrients already in the plant itself? Also, do plants actually take up Nitrogen in the form of ammonia or nitrates or are they processed before they are taken in?

Flushing a plant through the last weeks of flowering dissolves all unwanted sugars and nutrients that you have induced your plants with over the course of their life. take one plant and dont flush it. i can guarantee you after a few hits you will try to sell of throw away the remaining herb that was un-flushed.
As far as nitrogen goes. this nutrient is obtained via breakdown of chemicals. ammonia and any other nitrate are taken in for nitrogen because they contain it, but are broken down within soil for roots to take up.

no, the residue is flushed down. but the nutrients and sugars with in the plant dissipate because the plant is only taking in water and not chemicals. The plants essentially uses all of the nutrients and sugars. almost like how we digest food.

im pretty sure the flushing would be the same as getting your stomach pumped when you drink 3 gallons of liquor and black out.

So does flushing cause yellowing of leaves close to harvest because it can no longer take up nitrogen?

Well if your using your nutes right your not using nitrogen too much during the end so that makes the leaves yellowish
