I've been reading through tons and tons of stuff on riu about growing/different methods, but I was just sifting through journals I wanted to sub and read later then I came across yours and just started reading and am quite amazed. I'm so thankful for people like you who take the time to explain everything they're doing...so helpful! I don't have the space to grow right now which bums me out because I really want to start. Hopefully sometime in the near future I'll have an area to grow :)

Sorry for the run on sentences I was super ripped left this post half way to go out and get some gas for my car and now I'm back

You don't need a lot of space to grow..... .If you look there are a lot of guys here that micro grow, LST, SCROG, SOG ... many diffrent types of growing styles to fit a plant into a small area while still tying to get the max yield while growing in a micro space. Welcome aboard !!!! Enjoy the reading material, there is plenty to choose from !!! Happy reading (and hopefully growing one day !)

Lol it's a really long story about not being able to grow, but not currently for personal reasons :) Yeah I know I've been really liking the results a scrog gives and I think I've decided that I want to go hydro of some sort (...possibly a waterfarm). I was really inspired by this thread! https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/344359-pineapple-express-g13-labs-seed.html

Thank you! Everybody is so friendly here. Yeah no kidding there's so much material...I start reading a thread and then I click a link in somebody's signature and then I'm somewhere else! I have so many bookmarked and sub'd threads I still have to read haha.

Hey man, welcome to the site! I'm glad you found my threads interesting :). Greenpower000 got it just right; you really don't need a lot of space to grow! You have learned about this already regarding PC cases anyway. I hope you can join us some time in the future as you say. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have along the way!

Okay guys, upon further inspection I have been able to set my final harvest date. I spent a good ten or fifteen minutes looking at as many trichomes as I could find on the big mature buds. On the sugar leaves I'm seeing as many as 50% amber trichomes already, and on a lot of the buds (not all) I'm seeing ~25% amber trichomes. All trichs are fully headed, and few are clear. I'll probably still do a staggered harvest, but I think I have enough nutes in the plant. I'll be continuing with my fresh-water flush with a small addition of raw cane sugar (1/4 tsp. per liter), along with perhaps 1/8 strength flowering nutes.

HARVEST DATE:
Saturday, 01/22/11. Day 56 (Week 8 from seed).

Stay tuned.

"I sort of agree with you regarding feeding. I noticed a tiny bit of nute burn starting to show up when I got home, so I think a day of fresh water will treat her pretty well. I'll be making a final decision later today after I do a more thorough trichome check, but I will probably end up feeding for 3-7 more days before flushing for ~5 days with an addition of dissolved sucanat (1/4 tsp. per liter of pure dried sugar cane juice -- same general effect as molasses without changing the final taste of the bud)."

Hey aggreenvin

Im interested in the "dissolved sucanat (1/4 tsp. per liter of pure dried sugar cane juice"......have you got any info on it buddy?.... sounds sweet lol!

Good luck with the harvest cant wait to see the final results!.... do you think you'l beat the 36g

ive udated also bud

Hey bud

After doin a little research on the sucanat i found this thread Sucanat, Soo-ka-nat
An got some info on it an thought id try get some.....then i found out sucanat is the american name for it, an all sellers i found wanted shipping cost like $20...so with a little more research i found the english name for it is muscovado sugar...an gess what after all the searchin around my local supermarket sells the stuff for 99p for 500g...so got me a box!

i was thinkin bout usin for the 5-7 day flush i was plannin........How much would you use on my plant 1/4 tsp per L same?

And how do i mixed it?

Also can i use it for longer and wile im usin overdrive for the last two weeks?

Im sure the stuff ive got is pretty much the same its called Billingtons Natural Dark Muscovado unrefined cane sugar.... it says on the box its unrefined so contains natural molasses of sugar cane

hope you can help bud or any 1 else with any input on the stuff

Hey guys! Today marks Day 58 from sprout. Over the course of the past three or four days I've been making further assessments of Miss Rotty Stem and decided to push back the harvest by a week or two. I started feeding her again because I realized that though I was seeing up to 50% amber trichomes on some of the inner sugar leaves, I was seeing virtually all cloudy and no amber trichomes on the actual buds. I need to give this girl a little while longer. I should have listened to you the first time PUKKA BUD! :P

Hey, that's good to hear Gorilla+CFL! If you have any questions just let me know.

Hey micro! Wooow nice job with that harvest, man. Did you do anything with the trim yet? I'd recommend a slightly different method of making iso hash than I used. The key is very little exposure time to the alcohol. Pour, shake for 30 seconds (no more), and strain quickly. The plant matter should only be exposed to alcohol for about 40 seconds. The blender method I used was great for yield, but not so great for the purity of the final product.

Nice, thanks for the link. That's some good information -- I wasn't able to find name-brand Sucanat either, so I went with natural cane sugar similar to yours. I figured I would use it according to the same per-volume basis as molasses. According to my research, that's about 1 tsp. per gallon in a DWC system, or approximately 1/4 tsp. per liter. I'm not sure if it's different in soil. Mix it up in your flush water I would guess. You could probably use more than I do because you don't have to worry so much about algae. I don't see why you couldn't use it along with your normal nutes! It's an organic carb source, I don't think it would interfere with anything else.

Hey buddy.....Have you been usin the sucanat to flush? if you have you shouldnt have lost any growth witch you may have if you used plain water.....have you any recent pics of her? I think miss RS will do good with another week or so........Have you stopped with the defoliating?

Ive read some different amounts to use wile searchin around some say 1tsp per g and some say 1tbs per g, quite a difference so still searchin to make sure im right on the sucanat thing.
I got some info of this thread also Carbohydrates for ENHANCED FLAVOR
Thanks for the help think im goin to use for 2wks, 1 with nutes and 1wk flush im hopin its good shit!

Hey man, I used sucanat to flush for a few days after I got back home, along with 1/8 strength flowering nutes in RO water. Growth didn't slow down at all, as you said. I actually noticed a significant change in the plant's smell while it was coming off of chemical nutes. It went from a sort-of isopropyl alcohol / trash smell to a sweet / trash smell. Very cool! I'm excited to see if the smoke is a little sweeter because of the sucanat as well.

Check below for pictures; I think she'll be ready to harvest around day 70 from seed (next Saturday). I'll start the real flush when I see ~10% amber trichomes on the buds.

Yeah man! I saw your pictures -- it looks tasty. I used the last of mine in some Lon Lon Milk a couple months ago, but I'm looking forward to having more in a couple weeks.

Here is good ol' Miss Rotty Stem at Day 61 from seed. I am spotting singular amber trichomes on the more developed buds, so I expect to start my flush within the week.

Good info on that thread, mate! Let me know how your Tbsp. addition goes. I may add a bit more next time.

thems some pretty buds agreevin :D
As pukka bud said..good luck with harvest and can't wait to see harvest!
Thanks, guys :). Not much time now!

so homie.. im wondering... clip the leaf off or cut the petals in half... what is your analysis?
I think it really depends on the plant's stage of life and the position of the leaf. Early on (during veg and the stretch), doing full defoliation (removing all fan leaves) promotes tight internodal spacing and offers full light penetration. Later in flower there is less aggressive vegetative growth and some leaves are beginning to become coated with resin. This is when I started taking off just the leaf tips. I didn't notice any negative repercussions, but I'm not sure how much positive effect it had either.

There are still some white pistils, yeah! I've definitely been seeing her really start to swell and thicken up -- no more airy buds to be sure! At this point I feel safe predicting at least an ounce of dankest goodness. After some more examination today, I think it's safe to say I'll be starting my flush either Sunday or Monday. I already notice more amber trichomes on buds than I did yesterday.

I just got my tent going again tonight, as a matter of fact! I don't have any pictures yet; I'm still waiting for a new lid for my reservoir. I loaded her up with half strength seedling nutes and transferred two feminized Barney's LSD seedlings into the tent which have been in the process of sprouting for the last few days. I think they'll both shed their shell helmets tomorrow, and I'll count that as day 1 of veg. I have yet to decide if I should do any more plants in the tent. I just got some feminized Barney's Tangerine Dream seeds in, and my reservoir lid will be set up for five plants. I'm thinking I will probably pick a mother and start going with clones before I use all five though. I'm really excited about the strain, so I'll probably put a Tangerine Dream in the PC case next; I'm eager to get my hands dirty with some photoperiod strains!
