I guess they value life in Serbia more than in America. Any such marches and protests in Texas in the wake of their mass murders? I haven't heard of any, situation normal nothing to see here, move on folks, thoughts and prayers.

When I bought this house 20 years ago the old guy had a locked wooden box mounted on the wall in the shop. When I asked what was in it he opened it to show an old .22 single shot and another old Brazilian 16 gauge single shot shotgun sold by Sears. All sawed off with a pistol grip it would make a handy little weapon. Hard to find ammo for it around here and I'll have to wait until my permit gets here to be able to. I still have 8 slugs but only a couple rounds of #4 shot. Wouldn't mind doing a little skeet shooting with it. I managed to stuff my old .303 and Ruger 10-22 in there as well. I keep the ammo for all in my office safe so I'm legal as hell that way.

When I asked what he was going to do with the guns he just said, 'I'm moving into the old folk's home and can't shoot nothing there so you can have them.'

I shoot on my own property but without that permit I'm not sure that it's legal to but got to get rid of those muskrats in my dugout when they show up. Every couple years a new one shows up.

Not going to get into reloading shells. I won't be shooting that much. In the city I can find the16 gauge at the big Cabela's store where I want to by a nice 12 gauge pump with a short barrel and pistol grip but has a full stock that snaps on for under $400. Didn't know those were legal but they are. An old 410/.22 over-under would be nice as well.

The gun is a 130-year-old English-type double made by a Scottish maker. It’s my poor man’s H&H.

I saw that pic later and edited my question.

My grandpa had an old double-barrelled 12 gauge I liked as a kid. My older cousin sucked me into crouching down on a hill to shoot a gopher uphill and pull both triggers at once. Rolled ass-over-teakettle down the hill into the coulee and had a huge bruise on my shoulder for weeks. He caught hell from all the adults. lol

I do want to get a bolt-on scope mount for my .303. Don't need a fancy scope but would make it a little more accurate for hunting if I do get my license for that too. If WWIII happens then fuggit as I'll just shoot whatever wanders thru my yard. We get moose and deer wandering thru every now and then. Got a nice little Bushnell scope new for $50 that works great on the 10-22. Gun fell over so it needs to be sighted in again. 100yds is where I dial it in.

I'm still trying to clear up enough space to set up to tie flies. Looking for a small boat to get out and do some fishing this summer.

So, Republicans are jumping at this crazy idea that mental health interventions can do what gun regulations can't (never mind that they are blocking tighter gun laws, just go with this for a moment. Some study of 175 mass shootings over ten years showed some common traits in people who did those deeds they had experienced trauma and were experiencing stress and tipped plans on online media sites were. Now, there are 375 million people in the US and I'm pretty sure that a lot more people have these traits than just 175 but I'll just ignore the fact that this isn't a very useful screening method for now. Let's say that we so what Megyn recommends, jump on anybody who has been traumatized, is under stress and say something violent on line.

It would appear that being a white supremist is more than a charter flaw, but an indicator of mental illness too. Once background checks and a domestic terrorist list is established, there is cause to put a white supremist on it along with antigovernment types (paranoids). It will be a good job for facial recognition and AI, trolling through the web searching for them and matching them up with gun applicants. I guess it would only apply to new purchases, but they could use such info to remove someone's guns and prohibit them from owning them. If one is gonna ban people from acquiring or possessing firearms, it must have a scientific basis to have a legal one.
