yes! another topic about LEDs

hehe so we all are talking about leds. some likes them some hates them but im just growing with them.

this is my 2nd grow wich turned out much better than first one. so we all know that leds make plants stretch. thats not a problem if we wont forget about LST'ing.

***plants stretching only at beginning. later - they grow normally (if were not flowering with them tho)***

yes flowering with leds suck. but for veg using leds is fine.

theres only one reason why im continuing to grow with leds: i had 6 females from 7 plants.

+ im planing about topping so plants will stay short.

That's what I was reading. I was really interested in the UFO system, but when I heard it's only good for vegging It made me apprehensive. But if a 90w is equivalent to a 600 watt system why no use it for vegging? Only problem with that is you might have to upgrade your flowering light to help out with the trees you started.

yes. for flowering i used only 40w and three 20w's CFLs. this was my first grow - now i bought bigger box where i will install my 40w bulb + five to six 20w's for bigger buds :) but now im talking about leds and veg not cfls and buds :)

i know that this threat wont stay up long cause people are tired from led threats + everyone thinks that leds suck..

but if ill get good f/m ratio again ill continue to protect leds. maybe i was just lucky at my first grow tho.

but no experienced grower will say that my plants isnt good cause theyre small and brushy. its ok to grow with leds if youre usining LST :) later those stems will be under soil.

hmm, I wouldn't have thought that LEDs would release the proper frequencies of light, but the results speak otherwise.

oh sorry.. i forgot to mention that you have to use leds with right wave lengths.

as i bought them half year ago i dont quiet remember right wave lengths.

one more thing: never use those small leds that you see in my video. use only 1w leds or stronger ones. that is very important.

afcorse people will complain about leds if theyre trying to grow with ~200 5mm leds. thats silly! even 10mm leds arent good.

i hope you understand what im trying to say :D

I follow. that's really cool. if I ever do some indoor shit (someday I'll go hardcore and get a full aeroponic SOG grow and geek the fuck out with gadgetries)

if you want to grow with leds - theres only one problem: if you want good panel you have to make it by yourself. panels at ebay is really shitty or very expencive..

and finding out right resistors for each type of led is pain in the ass.. i asked some smart people wich resistors to use but made light by myself.

theres one more good thing about using right leds (1w's or stronger ones) is that you dont have to solder more than 150 leds .. soldering ~10-20 leds is much easyer and faster :) but theyre not cheap though.

is there anyone else who had good (or maybe bad) experience growing with leds?

im planing about turning fan off for a while cause its too strong forcing leaves rubbing to each other... that makes little brown layer around some leaves..

red or blue? i got all blue leds there.. im not sure that they can get better.. please read my first post :)

i understood the first time...

i was saying...regardless of whether theyre red or blue, the technology just isnt there yet

give em 5-10 years

Figuring out resistors and stuff is easy... ohm's law... if you get stuck again, just come and ask...

There has been a number of LED developments, none realy ready for production yet, but soon enough...!

haha thanks but im not sure if ill ever make another panel. sure, theyre cool and stuff but its too expensive to make new panels all the time.. im still regreting that i used usual 10mm diodes instead of stronger ones.. using ~10 1w or 2w diodes would give much better results :)
