Ok guys and gals here's what I got. I was able to get 6 brand new G8 900 watt led lights with 12 of the 90 watt flower boosters. The grower was shutting down and I bought all of his equipment was able to pick up the lights for 350$ a set (1 g8 900 and 2 boosters) what I was wondering is has anyone had any growing experience with this light and are they worth the 1200$. I am setting up a 12'x15' room and I'm trying to figure out how many more I'll need to get me through flower any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well so long as you don't try to cover too much area they should work great. Shoot for 35 watts per sqft, those are 540 watt lights so about 15 square feet would be good, 3x5 or 4x4 area depending on the footprint. Never used them personally so hopefully others can contribute more. At the price you got them for I would say you got a great deal.

Run the ones you have with 2 rows of 3 lights. Covering 4x4 each or 12x8 overall for flower.
See how they perform before investing in more of them.

Because grow lighting is one of the few product areas where marketing HIGH wattage is attractive. Put 200 diodes capable of running at 5w each, and you advertise a 1000W light....there's the issue, the power supplies in many of them do not deliver the max capability of the emitters. In your case, nearly 50% less...
Exactly the opposite for household bulbs.
Look at the packaging on a common screw in LED bulb. They highlight the ACTUAL power consumption, in big bold labels...."Only uses 14 Watts!!!!!"
Shifty.

It's a gay ass LED marketing tactic. Trying to say it's a 900w equivalent. Totally ignoring the meaning of the word "watt".

My 2 g8led 900 are in the closet now but I used them for 4 and some years. I know it might seem like I was crazy but I ran 2 of them in 2.5 x 5 when I used them and they worked awesome in that setup, I would run 6 plants in that tent in 4 gallon pots and always pulled 26+ zips of bud in that tent. I Also tried to use them in a 3 x 6 tent with 6 plants spread a little further apart than my 2.5 x 5 tent but my yield went down, and my buds were not as tightly packed growing clones from the same mama that grew out so much better in my 2.5 x 5 tent. I now use 2 x fotop 800 qb knockoffs (h chips) with HLG 320 48V drivers each running at 160w each, and I now pull 36+ zips from my 2.5 x 5 tent. But I do also use 4 x 2' T5HO during veg and flower, I run 4 x ATI 15000K during veg and 2 x arcadia 16% + 2 x ATI 15000K during flower!
