Yellowing leaves 4 weeks into Flower

Hi everyone.

Don't have pics right away (will post tonight), just passed 4 weeks of flowering and had some light issues (one blew out and had a week and half running at 50%).

Anyway when I got the new light up and running I can see a large portion of leaves starting to yellow higher up the plant near the buds.

I've not done a grow in over 10 years and from what I understand, half way though the flowering that yellowing is perfectly normal.

Will add pics for confirmation but I have been running bloom nutes, organic nutes, some cal mag, and plain water.

Does this sound normal for this stage of growth?

No, it doesn't. nothing normal about yellowing halfway in flower. at the end, yes, but not halfway. Just from what you've mentioned I'm suspecting you're over doing the ferts. why are you using bloom nutes and organic nutes? please describe what you've done from the beginning but no need to write a book, just briefly how you handled the feeding and watering so far.

I've got a photo from a week ago

I alternate... Every two to three days when they need water I either use water or organic nutes or bloom nutes. Every second watering is always fresh water.

I wait until the pots dry out so they are light but the leaves are not yet starting to droop and then soak with around a gallon of water. I sit them in seperate pots, fill with water l, drain and back into the tent.

I may have put a double dose of bloom into the same bucket of water the other day not paying enough attention otherwise nothing has changed.

I have two different strains in the tent and the second plant is fine, nice even dark green leaves.

You probably don't need to fertilizer so much. not every other watering. people will say that you need more nitrogen, so explain exactly what ferts, how much goes into a gallon or liter of water, are you following a feeding schedule? what soil are you using?

I started all this well before I did enough reading so next grow should be vastly superior (hoping anyway).

Using sensi bloom 4 litres a time, using their nute calculator. I typically use roughly 3-4 mil a feed (just under the recommended dose - around a teaspoon). With the pure organic nutes I use Powerfeed at around 10mil per 10 litres (split feed into two for two plants) and randomly use only a few mil of organic calmag (once every three to four weeks).

Plants started life outside and then I got the tent etc and moved them inside.

Soil is just a mix of potting/ seedling mix that was all I had in the beginning. Obviously I've read a lot more since I started again and will have a proper soil mix based on what I've read on here.

Looking at photos and the leaf reference guide my thoughts were low nitrogen as well but wanted to hear thoughts before I add a little extra.

you have leaf tips that are dying. this usually means over fert. plants go yellow and die just as easily for over feeding as under and since you're already ferting and it looks like you have been for a while, chances are good you've given too much.

Ok thanks for taking the time to check it out. I'll go back to plain water for a while and see what happens.

I'll also take some better top down photos under better light to see if they give a better idea of what's happening.

I agree with thumper. Looks like you started your flower nutes too early. you should feed with veg nutes till stretch is done.

Ok thanks for info. Watered with plain water last night so it will be a day or two before I can add some N so the soil drys out a little before watering again
