Yellow on leaves?

I have some new plants that we grew from seeds. They have been in soil for 2 weeks under 600 watt MH light. We have not yet added nutrients. the light is 27 inches from the top of the plants. a week ago we noticed a very tiny amount of brown on the tips of a couple of the plants. We were told it was a bug from the roots being too wet and we were told to spray with Bug B Gone by Fox Fire farms or Natrol (sp?). We found the Bug Be Gone and have used it 3 times so far on the plants. Since then we noticed this one plant has all kinds of yellow in it's leaf pattern. a couple of other plants are just beginning to show some of this yellow as well. please check out the photo and let us know if this is normal or a problem? It isn't brown or looking like it is dying it just has this pretty yellow pattern in the leaves and we don't know if it is normal or if it indicates a problem. Also even after spraying bug be gone 3 times this past week I still saw a little black flying bug today. help? thanks!!:leaf:

don't be so quick to diagnose a problem and start spraying chemicals. Yellow leaves are the symptoms of many things. I'm definitely not an expert, but i will tell you that it could also be a result of a nutrient deficiency, say magnesium or nitrogen. At 2 weeks in you are safe to feed the plant some nutes, but i'd mix them at 1/4 strength or 1/2 strength so you don't nute burn them. Yellowing that turns to brown is a very common sign of nute deficiency(your plant starts feeding from the leaves because theres no nutes, turning them yellow and eventually brown) , make sure when you feed them that your soils pH level is good as well, or you'll get ph lock and the plant won't be able to absorb the nutes. Hope that helped even a little, good luck man!

thanks for your fast response! well we didn't self diagnose, an expert told us what he thought the problem was with regard to the bugs so we go the spray he recommended, It is not a chemical though it is organic made from chrsanthymums. Our water is PH balanced to 7. the same expert told us no nutes till 4 weeks. these plants are only 2 weeks old. Any experts out there? also read that different strains have different colors, so, is this normal or a sign of a problem? if so what problem and I did actually see the flying black bug so I beleive the expert that told us the bug problem was probably right but this is different than browning leaves, They are not browning. the yellow is yellow, not brown or even close to brown. help?:leaf:

ok well i would trust your expert over me then haha. good luck in figuring it out i hope you fix it! oh and browning comes after the yellowing. if a section has been yellow for a few days or a week or so it will eventually turn brown, thats what i meant, but sounds like you're headed down the right path to figuring it out.

can any veterans help him out?

or help her out as the case may be? I am on my husbands account haha. thanks again, so you definitely think it is a problem and not normal. Wish I knew what to do? I am afraid to spray the organic bug killer too much as I know that can hurt the plants too. I have been very lightly spraying a fine light mist over the plants. we are watering when the soil is dry about 2 knuckles in. light is on 24/7 . here is another pic of our babies

terribly sorry, had no idea. Can any veteran help her* out?

they really don't look that bad though to tell you the truth. i'd just be careful not to over treat them for things that might not be the issue, but you know that already as you mentioned above w/ your care using the bug spray. really wish i could help you out. only thing that i haven't seen you mention is your SOIL's pH level. Make sure its right because if not it won't matter your water's pH, the soil will lock out the nutes that your feeding them or that your soil contains. good luck to ya!

Good morning CastleR and thank you again! Yes for 2 weeks out and growing from seeds not clones, we r please so far with all but the one with the yellow leaves. I was reading some posts from experienced growers and one mentioned teeating them as individuals. makes sense as everything grows differently, heals differently etc. So, I had mentioned that we were keeping the water at a PH of 7 as our expert recommended for soil. They call him the scientist and he came in second at a local canabis cup a few years in a row. However read yesterday from another poster that seemed to kjnow his stuff that he keeps his at 6.2- 6.8 range and I kinow for Hydro u keep it below 5.5 right now I am using pool test strips that show PH, and alcaline levels but you have to match up the colors to the measurment and so I do not think it is the best meter or gage for PH levels. I am going to PU a PH meter as well as a moisture meter. I believe in hands on and feeling the soil etc but I want to back up my analysis with facts. I so appreciate your advice and comments! I have nutes ready to go but was waiting a bit for the plants to not be fragile. I think I will add a 1/4 mix this week or for sure by the end of the week. :weed:
