Yellow leaves

Is there any reason i cant use CANNA AB in soil. I have a mother plant going into flower that i have had growing in soil (Gaia Green and HP Pro) since February. Just put it into flower a couple weeks ago. I have really been neglecting it and just giving it what ever all summer along. The only nutes i have are CANNA AB for my coco grow. that is all i grow in now but have this mother plant in soil to flower out. The plant is slowly starting to yellow. Looks like lack of N. I really dont want to have to buy a whole set of nutrients for just this one plant. what do i need to do?
I have upped the CalMag some, 4 days ago it might have helped a little but not much if at all.
What about giving it real soaking with just water, flush with say 12 litres in a 12 litre pot? then let it dry out and start the nute regiment all over?

When plants go into flower, the nutrient requirements change quite a bit. This is why veg and flower nutrients are sold in separate containers. Your leaves turning yellow are most likely do to lack of proper nutrients. Even though it's common to see yellowing leaves here and there, throughout the grow, this isn't what you're seeing.

You can't cheat your way through this. Even if you make it to harvest with some buds, they will be lacking greatly, in size, flavor, and potency. Unless you see several posts from experienced growers stating that you don't have to use something, for whatever reason, chances are that you need it.

I highly recommend GH Floro Series,, which is easy to find, and sold on Amazon. More CalMag won't do it.

Thanks for the reply and advice. You are one of only a few that I pay close attention whenever you post.

I am just not prepared to go buy a whole new series of nutes for one plant that only has a month to go.

I added kelp extract, and epson salt this morning. Will see what happens. The good news is, "its only 1 plant"

on another subject (this one got me thinking about it) How much calmag is to much. What ARE the signs of to much calmag?

respectfully

Thanks Man, I appreciate the compliment.

I'll admit that I don't know have nearly the knowledge as others here, on nutrients, so I'm not sure what you can get away with. I just know that if there's something lacking, the plant will surely show it. You can add 1mg to 5mg CalMag per gallon. They can handle quite a bit, but it still won't make up for the lack of other nutes.

You can get flower nutes without buying the whole series. Here's a pint container of "Tiger Bloom" for under $10...

it'll be fine. i've used coco nutes in soil and hydro. ive used hydro nutes in soil. ive used soil nutes in hydro.
the differences between soil, coco, and hydro liquid nutrients is usually just the strength (with soil being weakest). they're all the same nutrients. coco might have a little different recipe, but its mostly the same. just use a little bit less if you don't have an ec meter.

1 bottle for grow and bloom?

Dyna Gro Foliage Pro at half strength. Adjust as needed from there.

Good as any place to start.

Jack's Citrus, is the cheap and effective powder solution.

a quart of that in canada is $49. and they wont ship to my location.

its been 5 days since I gave it Kelp extract and epsom salt. NO CHANGE still yellow. the small leaves at the top inch are mostly still green everything else is yellow. Whats left? I'm ready to toss this in the garbage. There has been no real growth in a couple weeks, the buds are small, 1/2 size compared to a clone from this one that has been in flower the same amount of time.
unless someone says otherwise i am going to hit it HARD with CANNA AB

Hydro and coco nutes have higher levels of micro nutrients than soil nutes. That's to replace nutrients the plants usually get from the soil. You can use them.
As to the yellowing, some strains just do better in hydro or coco than they do in soil. I got some seeds from a buddy who didn't like a strain he had tried. He grew them in hydro, DWC I think (I don't use hydro so I really couldn't tell you) and they grew well, he just didn't like the effects.
I grew them in soil and they just would not keep their fan leaves in flower. It didn't matter what I fed them, what I changed, the leaves would start to yellow from the bottom up, until I just had a stick with budsites and some sugar leaves. They still finished, and it was good, not a huge yield but nicely potent.
Other strains did well growing right beside them, same nutes, same lights.
I would have tried it outside in the ground this year if I had still had some seeds.

Well, that's all I've got for you. Air pot, so she shouldn't be rootbound, all I can say is don't toss her, half size nugs are better than no nugs.
Good luck, hope somebody can help.
