Yellow leaves on seedling plant! PICS INCLUDED

Hey guys - i'm about 1 week and 3 days into my grow, and one of my seedlings has developed yellow leaves (the lower starting leaves). Please take a look at the attached pics and let me know what you think.

I've been having to water them every day (sometime twice per day) since my light dries thier soil out really fast - could the yellowness come from over-watering?

chill there just the starter leaves
once the seedling uses them for their food they die yellow fall off
and yes it sounds like maybe a bit heavy on the water
i mist them 2 times a day and water every 3 in peat pods what soil are you using

Yeah what jimi said, and I my 2 cents is for you to go ahead and transplant them as soonn as those yellows fall off, bury them up to the first set of real leaves and watch your lights don't get them so close that the leaves get ridges.

Thanks for the tips!!! I'm using Premiere Promix HP plus added a little extra perlite to the mix - hindsight, I probably didn't need more perlite as the Promix already has it, but.... do you think I should change my soil when I repot? I don't necessarily need to go soilless with just the promix, but what would you suggest?

Hmmm... so the leaves are getting ridges due to it being too dry? I can move the light away a little - it's a 400w MH and I know I need to be careful using it with seedlings....

This is strange because it is happening on two of my seedlings right now. Compared side by side with my other 2 seedlings which look EXCELLENT. they are a different strain but just seem to grow slower then the other 2. I think its genetics.. and luck.. because last batch of seedlings the strain that looks bad now looked great. I don't know if that made any sense. :S

Thanks for starting this thread as I was experiencing the same thing and was thinking about posting myself. It also looks like we are on almost the same time schedule although mine is at two weeks now but 3 plants not 2 on the 400watter HPS:) Good luck with your grow bro

whoa there pal! Ease up of the perlite lol. 20% :D and mix thoroughly. :D
Ha ha.... yeah, there was no real reason to add more perlite to my mix since the Promix already has it but now i know for next time... oh well, i'm repotting right away so my 6" pots won't have any extra perlite in the mix, just straight Promix. I'm thinking of getting some organix potting soil for the final repot before flowering too - is it risky to change the soil recipe at that stage? :leaf:

Hmmmm....interesting! Well, I don't have any other grows to compare this too, but that makes sense. I don't mind if they are slow, I just want to make sure i'm not doing anything majorly wrong...lol.
