Y splitter for exhaust

Will it work or will the pressure from each exhaust fan cause problems for the other?
I have one 6 inch hole in my wall to vent outside.
Don’t want to make another one if I can help it.
2x4 tent has a 240cfm fan and I’ll put a 480 in the 4x4 tent I’m buying.
Anybody doing this?

I don't know for sure, but I'm gonna say there will be problems.

Size needs to increase after the y. For instance, 4 inch duct from both up to the y and then would need to step up to 6". Back flow preventors prior to the y... so when one kicks on it doesn't push into the other line....if not the same tent an inline filter for pest...
The only tent connection will be at the Y. They’ll have separate ducting.
So I’m thinking pests not gonna be an issue as long as both fans running 24/7.
Or is that not a good assumption?
The step up makes sense. I can do that.
Worse comes to worse I’ll break out the hole saw.
Hoping not to have to.

Should work just fine. a 6'' hole should be able to handle that. i think these guys are overthinking it.

I have 3x3 veg tent ducted to a 3 x 5 flower tent. It goes out the wall from the 3x5. 6" fan and always on/ Works very well.

I'll look into that. Thanks.
You may find it costly enough to warrant just putting in a second fan but if you are limited to one exhaust duct going out of the house then I would want one fan feeding that and pulling off multiple sources using dampers on temperature controllers/timers as required.

The absolute best thing you can do to optimize the performance of your ventilation system is to use galvanized snap seam instead of the slinky hose shit and keep runs as straight as possible bends really hurt performance. Seal the galvanized snap seam with duct mastic or aluminum tape.
