Y connector flow

I have an 8 inch cool hood. Ill be pushing air from the outside through the hood to cool. Ill also be exhausting with another fan with scrubber. Both fans will be 740cfm with speed controllers.

Question, would my two exhausts connected via a Y connector to a single 8 inch exhaust work? Should have enough flow without the worry of any back pressure ?

I over sized the fans for volume so I can turn them down for noise, I seriously doubt both will be crankin at 100%.

What two exhausts?You say a single hood. Are you adding in room exhaust?If so turbulence from the differences in air pressure will defeat what you are wanting to do. Read up on hot rod headers and why they are equal length. Not just the sound.

Here's my crude drawing. Green dots are fans . Cool hood is being cooled from cool air in room, scrubber is sucking air out of tent and both exhaust would be vented outside room.

Your Y connection should be fine. Whats the intake?

Just a passive intake at the bottom. It's a dr90 tent.
