and i seen that article already maybe by the time it it made available to law enforcement weed will be legal
Well, he was trying to say that FLIR, which is technology that's been around for almost 40 years now, CAN see through walls. It absolutely, positively cannot. I just posted that article with a device (not FLIR) that can see through walls to illustrate how different the technology is. This is brand new stuff and is VERY flawed at this point. I believe it uses radio waves, whereas FLIR is a passive device that only scans surface temps. That's it!:bigjoint:

now if you go to the site little haters, you will see pictures of the inside of buildings, thermography and how easy it is to determine where or what is inside of a structure... does it take an exact image of the inside of the structure? no but as all mammals radiate heat, it sure as heck can show the authorities what is inside a structure and if (off the top of my head) there is a highly concentrated source of heat (like a 1k lamp perhaps???) operating inside... btw: all that info is available AS THE FIRST SEARCH ON GOOGLE... sorry i didn't post earlier, i (unlike some of you it appears) have things to do, like errands and watering my plants... don't like it??? go f--- yourself... try to make our little electronic home a better one, jerks...

I'll let you in on a little secret bro. I served 8 years in a Marine Recon Battalion. We used FLIR, night vision, and other cool toys. I saw combat on 3 different continents and I spent 15 years as a fireman. We also used FLIR on a daily basis. What's more, I was one of our departments in house experts on FLIR (whoops!:shock:). I went to a course where I learned all about how FLIR cameras work, how to fix most problems as well as many other interesting technical things. It was my responsiblity to inspect, conduct preventive maintenance on and repair all the thermal imagers for our department (which is a large metropolitan fire department). I was responsible for training and keeping up with the latest technology. Thermal imaging cameras are pretty complicated. I have used cameras that were all sizes and shapes with varying capabilities. I even cross trained the police when they started buying their own handheld thermal imagers! I don't typically like to toot my own horn but I'm about as much of an expert as you're gonna find on this technology, with the exception of a FLIR engineer or technician. Believe whatever you want. The police want you to think they can see through walls so why not just go ahead and play into their hand? If they could see through walls don't you think they would be busting more growers that way? Think about it. Not once have I EVER been able to see through a wall with a thermal imaging camera. Sorry.:-(

BTW, that was a really nice copy & paste and all but nowhere does it even suggest that FLIR can see through walls. Wanna know why? Because it can't!:dunce:

Incidentally on a more relevant note. Whatever/however someone might gather information with any of the these device (IR, FLIR & even the Sonic Imaging) are all going to be diffused in ability by insulation which you should have around your grow room just to keep temps extra stable anyway.

FLIR just sees differences in heat that is all it does. It's the interpretation of the that is the give away. The helicopter FLIR's have a tremendous zoom capability.
A give away might be why is all that heat pouring out from that small round spot on the side of the house, that look like the other grow rooms they busted. No other house looks like that. If it was a close dryer it would be near the ground. A hot water heater vent on the roof. If you are pouring heat out of your house it has to look like it is from something ordinary like every other house. A way to counter FLIR is by heat dilution. Dump the heat in the center of the house and let it get diluted. If you are worried just rent a FLIR yourself and make the necessary adjustments so you look normal.

they have backpack sized FLIR // x-ray machines that work by the user standing against the building and looking inconspicous(maybe using his cellphone or someshit). while the info is sent to a nearby van or he van even use a handle held monitor.
