i almost agree with u sds.... sometimes i wish i had less red and more white with my af600s... however, i do think the reds help

Oh so your waiting for those 250lm per watt ww leds too??ha.......I agree, leds have nowhere to go but UP in efficacy: beat hid at its own game!

still think it's an all ww panel or "mix" of cw/nw/ww now"^^^^????

Can I say I agree, but only to an extent? I do not see any great grows with just white LEDs, most seem to believe that the latest, best combo is whites and reds. If whites were the bomb by themselves, we could get there with fluorescent technology, but we see that even Inda-Gro wants to add red.
 
yeah i mean the only reason why i wish there were more white and less reds on my af600s is because it's easier to inspect my plants :eyesmoke: I def. think red is needed.
 
Soo... This is good to know, and agreeable, but you don't believe in supplementing your whites with mono- emitters? Don't get me wrong, Full Spectrum (w/whites or w/out) is your best option. but you don't want heighten your senses? ;D

control stretch with blue... hasten flower with FR... UVB...

Now.. when formal research is "acceptable.." maybe some companies will start developing diodes specifically for what we want them for with all these nm's we want more of.

But that gets into "what's the right wavelengths" bs, in time we'll be able to get or hands on some serious power.
 
did i get it wrong or wasnt the message of the 2nd Video: fuck White light and get some flavor enhancing, growth Controlling spectrum "that enables so many things u cant imagine, because with light you can affect every prospect of your plant, how it looks like, how it tastes like" ;-)

from my little cress led/sun comparison i noticed the taste aspect of 660nm...well if its not caused by something else - like just differences in the amount of light intensity sun vs led :-)
 
SDS, you are the man!! yes sir!!!

I got your tips and made me some led panels, about 8:2 WW:CW, and the plants love it, only at veg time right now but no stretch with 40W only, now i put another 60w panel to boost growth.
Don't know yet if reds make some diff in flower, but the WW price is much lower and seems more natural to me a continuous spectrum as white ligth than the discrete light red or blue leds produce.

Thanks for all your time givens to this philosophy and help in astir thread.

It's a hard time to be a socialist in Greece, from what I understand. Good luck with your recipe, hope it works.
