Friend gave me a cloner for my bday. Wondering wtf I put in it just plain water? Add nutes? Or maybe some clone solution ? I've only used cubes or root roit cubes lol

plain water and Rapid Start with willow tea.. I also use clonex gel..prob just a habit..

My best results have been with dipping the clones in clonex gel (made in michigan) and then adding clonex solution to my water inside the cloner.
As long as my cloner is clean, I have excellent results.

Thanks man! ive been hearing the same thing from people around here. you dont even use a gel or any type of "dip"?

100% plain water here. Additives seem to do little other than muck the tubing and nozzles. Don't listen to the talk that it takes 3-5, or 7-10 days. Keep your water at room temp and let them go until they die, if necessary. The key to these cloners are water temp, watch it closely, don't let it get higher than 76-78. Use a cycle timer if you have to too keep the temps right. I have a strain that takes 21+ days to root so patience is the key.

Same system here. As I use RO water I give a splash of CalMag as well. I also add some benny bacs for good luck

I use, regular nutrients but 1.tenth of the strength huge roots in 10 days or so, and I split the stem with a razor straight up 1/4 inch. works much better then the 45 degree angel, people try 1 clone this way. see the difference. you will have 2 times the roots !

I use quarter strength Rhizotonic with clonex gel. I like cloning.

If I used the RO water, I wouldn't have accumulated all the mineral shit on my cloner. I think I told myself I was going to just use bottled water from here out, then
I forgot. lmao.

pure RO is too soft. I have a RO machine and sometimes I make a 50/50 mix with tap water to EC 0.2. Or you could buffer RO water with ca mg. bottled water is about right though.

I dip cuttings in Clonex and just use plain tap water in the cloner. I try to keep my cloner in the 80-85 degree range for best results. I also like to keep my clones in the cloner until they have big roots and have returned to vegetative growth stage, they don't seem to be shocked from transplant as easy at this stage.

I don't like those temps in water medium/hydro as it would seriously accelerate any rot. I would suggest a lower temp and just let them take an extra day or two to drop roots.

The cloning or rooting phase has different needs than the veg or bloom stages of growth.
The warmer temps definitely help speed up root production. If you look on the EZ-Clone website in the FAQ section they recommend maintaining the reservoir between 70-85 degrees, I personally try to keep my reservoir between 80-85 degrees during cloning and i keep the atmosphere as close to 75 as possible.

A cycle timer is the key they cost a pretty penny but are worth it. 1 minute on 4 minutes off. Someone I trust very much told me those times and they work great. Ive mainly gone with clonex but u can never tell when it goes bad so I got a bottle of the hormex powder and it works great.
It's true it takes a few weeks for some clones to root. Idk y but I've had cuttings from the same plant take drastically different times to clone. One took 5 days the other took 19. I leave Em in there Til I see sludge or mold or any slime on them or if they die. Im at about. 90% now I can confidently just take 1 of a strain and know its prolly gonna come out. The cycle timer helped me out a lot when I first got the cloner. I had mold issues Lettin it run all the time.
Make sure you still mist your babies down several times a day they love it.

same thing i do and have had 100% success. used kln by dynagro but clonex rooting solution seems to work better imo
