Would you pay this much

These are catered to the Avocado Toast idiots.
The “ look at me “ IG nuts.

A lot of growers will agree on the following:

Many new “ strains “ are strains that have had their lines worked only to have some dude - S1 or F1 someones hard work / rename it and sling their chucked seeds. Its a sad thing to do the work and have others claim the hard work. IG is full of these pop up seed drops. Someone has already stated about the “ dilution “ of strains. The use of “ cookies “ in that strain screams hard pass because many agree “ cookie strains “ aint all that.

I betting a proper Master Kush would trounce that
“ picture pretty “ strain. However there are many small farms that work their cuts and produce clean , stable bud . Its just takes some sleuthing to weed ( no pun ) out the posers and money grabbers.

No.
I would not pay that much for a zip - ever.

There's a lot of "boutique" products that don't match the hype for regular smokers - if you're here, that's probably you/me.
I've paid way too much for an eighth for special occasions (up to $75) --- always a great smoke, NEVER worth the amount paid.
As said above - I'd rather spend $500 on a light and grow pounds....an ounce doesn't last long enough in my house! bongsmilie

IMHO - dispensaries are mostly the budweiser of weed - reliably decent - my first micro-grow was a serious eye-opener!

I grew Master Kush for years. It's as good as all these new cookies strains. Genetics play a big part but much has to do with the grower. So many new growers seem to believe that because a very small sample of plant matter tested at 27% THC they're going to get the same results so they pay whatever the pollen chucker wants. Many end up disappointed with mediocre quality and yield despite growing the latest "Fire".

Its the same mentality with alcohol and the “ proof % “ ... they look at the label and go “ awe shit 150 proof “ but a shit can of Four Loco would make them see double ... i mean you buy what you want but know there are people that will tell you anything to sell .

I remember days when some of the strongest head high was from the ugliest weed. So there’s that. Another example : GG4 . How many breeders claim the lines in their seed products ? How would you know ? THC percentage really means nothing to the end user - that simple claim puts the placebo anticipation of that strain in your head . Easy way to know if you have strong weed - two strong drags on a pipe / cone / dab / joint ... and you get twisted.

Kind of like trying to tell a noob to avoid amazon blurple panels .... just trying to help.

Not being a debbie downer about subject hate to see fellow potheads throw cash at flash.

I'm strain hunting for my next grow right now - Blue Dream has the lead at the moment.

Do you NEED the latest, greatest? Awesome! You'll be on the cutting edge...here's a bandaid just in case.
Buckle up! It might go faster / slower, smaller / taller, just throw nanners at you --- or it might give you a frost show the whole way. Good luck!

Do you want good smoke in your garden? Then grow what get's you happy and enjoy your grow.

I'm just starting - my eventual goal is to find 2 or 3 solid strains that I can really dial in - then start looking into exotics / new strains.

I'm pulling this old school GG4 of unknown lineage for a third almost fourth year. Tried and true. No points on flavor. But sit you down and rip your lungs out if you get greedy. Find proven strains to match your needs. Much cheaper and reliable. This beats the $65 / quarter dispensary version here hands down. Love watching people smoke it for the first time. Good times to all and may your efforts reap unicorn colas.015.jpg

Anyone ever run the og blueberry ( dj short ) ?

always out of stock - looking to source the “ original “ if is such a thing.

I've been enjoying the pure sativa's I've been growing. Oldtimers Haze, Ciskei, Panama, Thai, etc... It's rare to find anything close at dispensaries. They might be selling something claiming to be a pure sativa but it's almost guaranteed that it's a hybrid. Commercial indoor growers are rarely going to be growing a 12+ week sativa.

Pretty much everything I've smoked from a dispensary looks and tastes like the rest of the regurgitated hybrid pollen chucks some people rave about. They can have it. I'm looking forward to the Ethiopian sativa I have growing right now. Can't find that in a dispensary for $500 or for that matter any price. You have to grow it yourself and because of that it makes it more valuable than anything being sold at a dispensary. After the Ethiopian is done I'm headed south and growing either Honduran or Guatemalan. I have to grow different strains every grow as I have so many seeds of different strains I want to make sure I grow them all out and make more seeds before they get old.

GG4 is certainly on the list - it's a staple in my house!
