Try people like Obama killed 20 Million People

In Ukraine during the 30s people like Obama killed 30 - 50 Million Ukrainians

In China during the 50s people like Obama killed 30 - 50 Million Chinese.

80 Million to 120 Million deaths at the hands of people like Obama, just goes to show that those that are ignorant of the past are doomed to repeat it.
Ok lets review...Al Gore is like a confused scientist...Dick Cheney and John Ashcroft are like Nazis...Sarah Palin IS a slutty wolf-killing stewardess [sic]...Obama is like a Red bastard freedom hating Commie....and Hummers with loggers glued to them ARE environmentally friendly:-|

Who said this thread was dead?!

So...besides being extremely boring (possible conspiracy by the religious right to bore science out of the classroom...my god Al is a downer to listen to!) the majority of what he was saying was about right, though it could have been conveyed completely in 2 minutes...but the soil stuff made me wonder?....

I would like to see/hear the rest of the speech, as it appears as though someone with an agenda, deliberately cut the video in mid sentence/thought to be deceptive.

So I was thinking...where in the world was he going with this????

So lets try to figure it out: Carbon in soil....well yes this is true...when we compost, the dead brown stuff is the carbon addition to the soil, and the green stuff is the Nitrogen addition (though it also has lots of carbon!)...But we are really only concerned with ATMOSPHERIC carbon....so many who understand the topic, but have not done any research beyond Fox News, and possibly AM talk radio and undoubtedly the good Book...Would say AAAAHA! Gothcha!.....

But if you could stand to go back and listen to what Al said...over several pauses (his speech style which is also often used to deceive out of context)...What he said was it took 10 years to connect atmospheric levels of CO2 to the deforestation of the rainforests...this is now elementary school stuff...

But he Said Carbon in the soil!!!!....what the context was, I believe, was linking Deforestation to exposed soils, which over time release carbon (yes VERY little, but..), where if the dirt was forested...it would actually be removing carbon from the atmosphere..exchanging it for pure oxygen and sequestering the carbon in the tissues of the long lived trees...

We need these forests...much more than we need the shitty cattle and Monsanto's round-up ready soybeans and the poisons that come with them....the deforested soils are surprisingly shallow plus...what the hell will grow on this after spraying with Round-up....nothin' but weeds an' Monsanto seeds!...previously self-sufficient farmers being turned into slaves all over the world:cry:

I like the part in the movie where he conveniently reverses CO2 and temperature data on the 1000 year chart from ice-core samples. I guess the fact that chart has been used as a standard in numerous textbooks on climatology for decades and has CLEARLY shown that temperature increases ALWAYS precede CO2 increases, didn't fit the plan for him to personally make over 100 million dollars since this little scheme was dreamed up. So they just reversed the data.

Hey anybody remember good 'ol Fat Al's campaign against the timber industry in Oregon that crushed the industry, bankrupted thousands of hard working Americans and moved the bulk of the industry to Canada while raising the price we pay for lumber dramatically. Yes, remember the Spotted Owl? The poor little spotted owl, so misunderstood and such a victim of the cruel timber industry. Oh, wait. They got it wrong? It wasn't the logging industry that was causing the little guy's hardship?

You did see the MASSIVE media reporting on how they got it wrong? Oh you didnt, well that's because it was barely reported on. Turns out it was another OWL that was causing the problem for the spotted owl. Turns out it was just natural selection. OOOPSY. Any apologies to the families whose lives were destroyed by this farce? Of course not. Fuck you very much, it was NEVER about the spotted owl. Case in point, did they repeal the restrictions and regulations that were based on this incorrect information? Of course they didn't.

The ECO-LOONS just wanted the logging to stop in the USA, they have no problem with it moving somewhere else, just so long as WE aren't doing it. Sounds familiar doesn't it, facts be damned, screw drilling for oil, so what if other countries are going to horizontally drill the exact same oil from a little further out and sell it back to us...just so long as WE aren't doing it.

MORONS....BAAAAA-BAAAAA

Global warming is a FARCE. Al Gore is starting a new multi- billion dollar tax scam, that will inevitably be paid with our blood. You know the new carbon tax, and cap and trade system. It's the new get rich quick scheme Al Gore and his buddies cooked up for us. It is not going to change anything, only what they tell you to believe will change. These movies are marketing tools,....
want to buy carbon credits? or will companies be forced to buy carbon credits? guess who owns the "carbon credit" store? Al does!

Why is this a sticky???
This is stupid. Al Gore is a manipulative, big government/corporate fuck. Man made global warming is a myth. Geothermal and solar processes are WAY more energetic and influential than man.

It's a great movie. To deny global warming, is to deny science.
To believe what Al Gore says is to deny science.

THOUSANDS of scientists don't believe Gore, no matter what Gore says about how the science has been settled. IT HASN'T!!!

Well put sanyard.
The conclusions about man-made global warming were reached before the research was done.

How scientific!

why is this thread a sticky

firstly an inconvenient truth sucked a fat dick, secondly it was full of complete BS. i mean the head of the fucking weather channel is suing al gore because he used a statistic of his companies and he doesnt wanna be associated with that television whore in the least bit

There's nothing special about the recent rise!”

Brazil: Chief Meteorologist Eugenio Hackbart of the MetSul Meteorologia Weather Center in Sao Leopoldo – Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil declared himself a skeptic. “The media is promoting an unprecedented hyping related to global warming. The media and many scientists are ignoring very important facts that point to a natural variation in the climate system as the cause of the recent global warming,” Hackbart wrote on May 30, 2007. France: Climatologist Dr. Marcel Leroux, former professor at Université Jean Moulin and director of the Laboratory of Climatology, Risks, and Environment in Lyon, is a climate skeptic. Leroux wrote a 2005 book titled Global Warming – Myth or Reality? - The Erring Ways of Climatology. “Day after day, the same mantra - that ‘the Earth is warming up’ - is churned out in all its forms. As ‘the ice melts’ and ‘sea level rises,’ the Apocalypse looms ever nearer! Without realizing it, or perhaps without wishing to, the average citizen in bamboozled, lobotomized, lulled into mindless ac*ceptance. ... It is all a fiction.”

Finland: Dr. Boris Winterhalter, retired Senior Marine Researcher of the Geological Survey of Finland and former professor of marine geology at University of Helsinki, criticized the media for what he considered its alarming climate coverage. “The effect of solar winds on cosmic radiation has just recently been established and, furthermore, there seems to be a good correlation between cloudiness and variations in the intensity of cosmic radiation. Here we have a mechanism which is a far better explanation to variations in global climate than the attempts by IPCC to blame it all on anthropogenic input of greenhouse gases."

Germany: Paleoclimate expert Augusto Mangini of the University of Heidelberg in Germany, criticized the UN IPCC summary. “I consider the part of the IPCC report, which I can really judge as an expert, i.e. the reconstruction of the paleoclimate, wrong,” Mangini noted in an April 5, 2007 article. None of the authors of the chapter bothered to directly communicate with me (or with other expert reviewers with whom I communicate on a regular basis) on many issues that were raised in my review. This is not an acceptable scientific review process.”

Czech Republic: Czech-born U.S. climatologist Dr. George Kukla, a research scientist with the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University, expressed climate skepticism in 2007. “The only thing to worry about is the damage that can be done by worrying. India: One of India's leading geologists, B.P.
