hi,

ive already purchased compost, vermiculite & perlite and was reading up on things that were good for the plant, i dont want to go out and spend loads on fertilizers and stuff because my budget is low...so ive seen you can ground up egg shells and banana peels and add them to the soil mix, then after 3 weeks i can either ground up more egg shells and banana peels and sprinkle them on the soil or make liquid fertilizer from them..is this ok? what are your thoughts?

i don't know if i'd do that.. molasses can help with the potassium and a few other micro nutes... i hear ash is good for nitrogen... there are much better things you could probably use other then egg shells and banana peels. lol

Only apply organics that have been composted before you apply. Rotting organics change pH and attract bugs. And stink. $30 for nutrients that will last you a bunch of grows is not big money.
