would these light bulbs work?

Dude, those bulbs are clearly gonna work, but there's something at Walmart that they don't advertise on the website. Its a CFL bulb that's made by brinks. Its $18 and its like 75w/7000 lumens. Numbers might be off a little bit! And I just came from Lowes not too long ago to get a HPS bulb and they have a even bigger one than the one at Walmart. Not sure of the stats on that bulb though. They both fit in a standard socket. I may get some to accent the sides of my cab.

wow dude what did i just show u yesterday??!? lol. skip cfls. buy that hps for less than $30 with shipping. it will do more work than whatever cfl setup u will try to make. dont get me wrong but cfls do have their place but they arient that efficient and use up alot of power and dont put out a lot of lumens.

What HPS are you talking about dude? Sounds interesting for so cheap. And, since when do CFLs take up more energy?

it was in a different thread. heres the linkhttp://www.e-conolight.com/Product/EProductDetail.asp?ProductFamilyID=7&FGNumber=E-MT6H151G
how do cfls take up more energy? when u put a 400 watt cfl system vs a hps 400 the cfl puts out half the lumens. in order to get the equivalency of an hps u need to get waaaayyyy more wattage in cfls

if you're going with cfl's go with daylight bulbs for veg..you can get them at wal-mart...they sell them in 2 packs for like $8...i'm guessing the bulbs you are checking out are more of a soft or warm white...good for flower...not so much for veg....

Who uses 400w on floros? If this is the case, yes you're not using proper wattage. HIDs are always good tho : ]
