Worried about my card.

My room mate posted for me a few weeks ago about how to obtain a card, but it got deleted when they reset vBulletin. Anyway, I went to a clinic in Portland and they checked me out, I got my physicians statement and grow area paper work. On my physicians statement they recommended me for severe pain, it also states that I have an L spine fracture. I was not lucky enough to get my paperwork turned in on time to the OMMP offices before they closed. I got my papers from the clinic on March 3rd. I was a dumbass, I didn't go to the post office and get a receipt in return, I just mailed it from home. I didn't do a money order, I sent a check along with all the other paperwork and copies of my drivers license. The doctor made a typo on the physician statement and left out the last letter of my last name. I called the OMMP to inform them that the doctor had made this typo and the lady on the phone told me that it wasn't a problem because they put the name of whatever is on your drivers license on the card, she seemed to be pretty confident and that I didn't have to worry. I'm still worried though because I've spent almost 400 dollars for this whole process. I want to know what you guys think my chances are of actually receiving the card in the mail, I'm really worried about this. I hear the typical time it takes for the card to arrive is anywhere between 4 weeks and 3 months. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I think you'll eventually get your card, but without the mail receipt you have a small issue of being legal but not being able to prove it for 3 months...

Wow. You are lucky they are at least tolerant of typos. Here in Colorado, they are like grammar nazis! One little mistake and they don't approve the card. How crappy is that? I think you'll probably get your card as well, but without that receipt...you have no 'legal' proof that the application was ever mailed. So, you'll have to wait till you atcually get the card. Only downside I see. ;)

the good thing about oregon is they the cops call the state to see if the address that is growing is legal to grow b4 knocking doors down.. its nice to be registered with the state so we don't get harassed every time some one sees, or suspects a grow going on.

No I mailed it from home, with a check.

Then you can't get a mail receipt. You just have to wait it out. The best way to send it is "Certified, return receipt". That way you have proof. This is the BS issue they have created by not having a way to drop off paperwork.

All that aside, hang tight. It can take over 3 months... I am also guessing they don't cash the check until the card is issued, but has the check cleared?

I just checked and the check hasn't been cashed yet.

i wouldnt worry. when i first moved here and applied the first time, it took 6 months to get my card. and when i renewed this year it only took a month. so im guessing they do all the renewel paperwork first, and it is a small office run by an MBA and i doubt they care much about getting peoples cards out quickly.

unfortunatly tho you are not legal in the meantime without proof that DHS receeived your application, so dont get caught with over an ounce or any plants. when you renew next time make sure to send it certified. :-)

also my doctor typo'ed my last name on the physician statement too, but it is spelled properly on my card so i wouldnt worry about that at all.
