Worm Gold Plus ????

Has anybody used this product as a nute for soil grows?

I have, its good for mineralization. The kelp, isnt kelp, its calcified fossilized kelp. the rock mineral is azomite. so add some kelp.


also, if you were to make your own and add those things during, i'd suspect that it'd be WAY better FYI.

Looks like good soil amendment for making a super soil. Not a complete add but part of a mix. Probably too expensive .

Worm castings typically have a meager NPK value but are not really a "nutrient." EWC can however do much more for your plants than nutrients can. EWC increases microbial activity in your mix thereby increasing the availability of whatever is in the soil. You will need other amendments and a clean water source to provide your plants total nutrition but worm castings are hands down the best compost for cannabis. $25 is kind of pricey tho; I probably harvest more than 8 qt of EWC from my worm bin about every three weeks for free. Worms work for kitchen scraps.

Yea I just watched a video on starting a bin think I may look more into it. I thought worm castings and EWC were the same!? Earth Worm Castings?

Yes sorry for the acronyms they are the same thing. Starting up a worm bin was a total game changer for me. It is the best thing you can do for your soil grow. Will up your organic game to baller status.

Seconded. First year doing it, just using drilled out home depot buckets and it makes a lot! Think I spent 10-15$ on the buckets. Might have used bins if I had a do over but the little buggers go through veggie scraps quick.

That’s my goal to grow organic TRUE organic. Going to do the bin. Is that all you feed yours?

What bin are you talking about? going to start my bin this weekend and I’d appreciate the tips. Type of bin and how many worms?

Home Depot has big totes for like 10$ or so. Get red Wiggler's, when I first started I just dug up some worms and that works, but recently I added the reds and now I understand why they are the top choice for this. They're just more active and eat through everything really fast.
As for feeding? I do the lasagna tech style of notill and have ewc, yarrow, horsetail, dandelion, biochar,rock dust, need meal, insect frass, and a bunch of other stuff that I can source on site. The ROLS thread in the organics section here has great info on amendments and their uses. Ewc tea, acct and sst's are give weekly and I do aquaponics so all my water comes from the fish pond. Getting great results and spending nothing on nutes is pretty ok in my book

Vermicompost drives microbial activity your mix but you'll also need to add NPK and mineral inputs to feed your plants. The idea is to put what is needed by your plants in your soil mix way before it actually is so then all you have to give them is water and the occasional compost tea just to keep the party rocking.
I had trouble with the first DIY worm bin I made out of 2 stacking totes. The worms kept escaping because I failed to provide them with enough airflow and opening the holes larger helped them get away. I bought a worm factory 360 soon thereafter which has waffled screen bottoms in all the trays for airflow. The trays also make harvesting the castings super easy. Plus there is a spigot that runs excess moisture off into a collection cup; the leacheate that comes out of it is like the best plant food. I dilute it by half and give it to all my plants; they love it. Best $80 ever spent.

i'll also say the company guys said there's 2 cup/ cubic foot of both the fossilized kelp and the azomite. that was a year to a year and half ago. which can be a bit depending on how much your using in your mix... doing a worm bin calcium carbonate is best imao. a little bit of clay(azomite) can go a long way.

not all worm castings are the same. theres a video on youtube about worm gold plus and its supposed to be the best worm castings you can get because of what the worms are fed. look into it. these arent your average worm castings.
