Whats the deal with the open pit , walls are way to steep to be a open pit type strip mine

Russia has some crazy stuff, lots of areas have just sat abandonded since the last days of WWII

Pink diamonds were once "industrial grade" as well.
Now look at them.
People ascribe trinket values based on what marketing tells them. What was garbage yesterday becomes a Giffen Good today with some slick advertising.

Rome would have needed millions of slaves and hundreds of years to do the same.

De Beers and Diamonds- A great example of how a corporate concept laid out to exploit people through guilt. And how easy it was. People in herds are easy prey.
