World Of Hempy

Never tried vermiculite for the res but I'm gonna say they will grow just fine and a bit faster than your avg soil grow. You are somewhat mimicking nature with soil above and water table/reservoir below. With all the nice micro nutes that soil has and a nice reservoir for drinking you will see awesome results. I did a grow few months back with half all perlite and half soil with hydroton res...the soil plants actually yielded better.
I hope you are right about it working out. I was kind of thinking that it would be at least close to what the trees on our property do. Because of the layers of clay in our ground the first water table is only about 6-8' down and is about 6-12" thick. There is a slow flow that goes under us, flowing East to West. I found it when I dug a pond.

I'm surprised to hear that the soil pots did better. Any guess as to why??

Thanks man, I appreciate the rep! I'm using a 14 gal tote to hold the perlite and hydroton. I drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom and then stuck it in an 18 gal tote that I use to recirculate the water to the res. I've made a lot of mistakes and corrections to the setup but these babies are growing better than any other plants I've ever grown.

d-day is close, just 2 more days of sunshine, then rain for 2 weeks, so I'll be chopping soon.....unless the weather man is wrong, which happens often

I reduced my nutes slightly, and will run straight water the last day or two mostly because I don't want to mix up another batch

Well I spent the weekend choppin' so the grow room is empty, and shut down till after the vacation. The new goal is to have seeds breaking the surface on Christmas day.

Here's the end of the 3 Bay-11's and the chopped up Maui Wowie, which only had a couple decent kola's in the front row but a bunch for the hash runs. The short pheno of the B11 was really sticky, I'm hoping that some stray pollen hit her while I was playing with the big girl in the back. The blue tape denotes the intentionally pollinated buds.

Very nice set of spears jella. Looks like one of the girls was a little stretchy.

Is there a federal energy grant I can get to subsidize the purchase of 4 of those panels for my room? I'd be cutting my energy consumption by 160w

Yeah Watts, the one on the right is stretchier but denser and stickier, with a deeper sweet "effervescent tangerine candy " smell if that could describe it. The shorter fat girl has much hairier buds but still very solid in calyx formation. I don't know when the Blueberry or Gum smell comes in but I'll run these out into the ≈60day region for max color /taste. BBG has been a pleasure to grow and very low maintenance. Looks like it will be easy to trim too...As far as the panel cost...just put some nice zips out to those with wallets. Start with two panels and look at the extra coverage you get, supplement it with an old 250/400 HPS laying around till you can cough up the cash for 2 more panels..if you really, really need them. In your climate, the extra HPS has to be beneficial for heat.
Looking absolutely amazing Jela! :weed:
Thanks Steelie and everyone else for the +reps!

49 days or so.

had some serious nute and ph issues for the first 3 weeks of bloom. these guys trucked right on through it. barely discolored til i started backing off the nutes.

im in love with hempy! i did very minimal run off too. like only every 3rd watering. id let it run off a little to let me know it was full but i wouldnt fill the saucer except for every third watering.

another weird thing i did was top dress with earth juice rainbow mix powdered amendment. guano goodness. they seemed to love it. got some good myco fuzz growin too.
