@rkymtnman last question. Should I be trying to treatment my hempys like I do my coco DTW? I mean it’s essentially the same thing right?
yes, they are very similar. both DTW, both feed with runoff, both feed once a day.

if the remo doesn't work out in the next few days, i think the megacrop would be fine in both. i think you just overfed with the remo which led to a few problems.

I agree with your conclusion on the overfeeding after bouncing it back and forth with you. No doubt.

there are a bunch of peeps on here that all agree that 1.2EC is about as high as you need to go in hydro.

here is a rough guide that i use:
0.2 seedlings
0.6 early veg
1.2 veg and most of bloom
0.6 last 2 weeks of bloom
Man.... I was way off lol. Man I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out! I took a screen shot of that and will Be adding it to my grow resources folder!

yep, no problem. glad i could help.

if you want to try something fun, grow a tomato plant outdoors in a hempy. i've had some get taller than me and i'm 6'3".

Holy hell!!! That’s crazy! I wanted to do some strawberries this season but I’m too late on planting those I believe. I’ll throw some tomatoes down and give it a whirl.

Hi everyone...
I'm running some 3.5 gallon Coco Hempy buckets right now and they're looking pretty good but buds are not bulking as much as I'd hoped at 6 weeks.
I've got a couple questions if you can help:

1. I'm feeding about 6 gallons every 2 days (5 plants). Should I feed full nutes every watering or because I'm watering so often....should I back off the nutes? (I've backed off to 1/2 nutes (500ppm MegaCrop and massive) for the last couple weeks...but maybe thats why my buds aren't as big as they were in my previous peat grows)

2. I'm going to run some coco buckets in my other tent as well and I was looking at different options re: sizes.
I was looking at some rectangular containers about a foot deep by 16" x 12". Would this work or would there not be enough coco media in a container that size? (I was looking a 5g pails but the plants in my current 3.5g buckets are almost too big for my flower tent...so I'm thinking they'd be gigantic in a 5g)

Hopefully that makes sense and thanks for any help

Comparing your runoff EC with your feed EC will tell you if your feeding to much. That is one of the things I like about Hempies, good feed back on EC without all the fuss of DWC.

I checked my ppm runoff at my last feeding. I I was going in at 600 and my runoff was 1600. Plants are doing great tho. I do water to about 10% runoff usually...but I might have let my coco dry out too much and now it's got a salt buildup. This is my first time using coco and first time in Hempy so it's been a learning experience for sure.

What’s EC? Not a hydro grower.
It is a measurement of the amount of "salts" or nutrients in your feed. I use a Blue Lab truncheon EC meter. The last word on feed strength is the plants or course. They'll tell you if their happy.

Nothing like real experience. I have failed my way to success many times. A couple of questions...how much perlite do you have in your coco? Do you water daily?

My personal experience.
I water every morning a bit after lights on. I often run EC .8 to 1.2 or 400-600 ppm. And the plants tell me that's enough. Sometimes higher when they say, "Bring it on!"
I have had good results with 2-3.5 gallon hempy buckets.
I water slowly, say 16oz at a time then wait. The plants will tell you how much they are using in a 24 hour period.
My 2 cents worth, Try watering for a bit more runoff each day, then see if the runoff EC comes down. IMO 600 ppm is not excessive, but the plants are the boss.

I have about 10-15% perlite in the coco and I was watering every second day. A couple times I went 3 days and the plants still looked happy. But I tried to stay at every second day...maybe the coco is holding onto salts. I even watered in at 250ppm a couple days ago...just using about 100ppm of Calmag and water. Runoff was 1600
Last night I fed at 600 and runoff was still 1600. No idea why it didn't come down a little. pH is good around 5.9-6.0

I use 50/50 coco/perlite.
That way I can water daily and keep runoff ppms lower.
Just as an experiment, try watering daily for a few days with generous runoff and see what happens.
Do you have the classic 2" res?

Yep my hole is at 2"...they take about 1.5gallons every two days with about 10% runoff. I'll try feeding everyday with higher runoff...like you say. Maybe that'll get the ppm down in the rez.

i fed 2x a day in bloom in hempys at a much lower ppm. that might help get your runoff out of your coco lower. more feedings with about 20% runoff/less nutes. 300 ppm instead of 600ppm.
I would second that tst2015.
You are basically in a slow flush now and 300 would get you squared away faster and not shock the plants to bad.
The plants are telling you that with your present watering schedule and EC, they are drinking a lot more water than feed.
Let us know how it turns out.
