Something else I've been looking at are CVault containers. They keep your stash at a constant 62% humidity. I'm gonna get one when I have some money and check em out.
Jela, SS was talking about these in my journal not too long ago. They use the Boveda 62% packs, and while they are nice stainless containers the packs would work just as well in mason jars. I am also thinking of picking some up at the local hydro store.

also consider checking out your local cigar store, they should have several options for humidity control....below is a link to Canada Humidor

As mentioned in Jela's thread, I use a food cooler (referred to as a collidor, or a poor man's humidor)....this is common in the cigar world as they seal great and easy to maintain a constant RH

Do you still have to pop the jars when you use those?
I think you have to perform the normal burping process to get yourself near 62-65% first...then the Boveda packs maintain that. I ordered up a hygrometer to sample one of numerous jars during cure to get me in the ball-park before I add the packs. Fingers crossed I won't be giving stash away when it get 6 months old, as I do now.

Once it's in the cure zone the humidipak maintains it. You have to get it there normally. Get a hygrometer if you're not sure. I go by touch now and the only problem I had was trying to dry a crop when I was fighting to get my rh under 70.

So checking on my critical kush plants and i noticed something peculiar on one of them... seems to be a set of leaves coming right out of the second node... i never came across this before, not that i have 200 grows under my belt but this is new to me, what do you guys think?

Id say that is normal. Good lighting will get you good growth. Ive had a top bud from the 1.node almost as big as the main top.

Look much bigger and better FJG - they'll be hitting the res soon, then you'll see EXPLOSIVE growth!

Keep up the good work!! bongsmilie

So I have a funny story for my fellow Hempy-ers:

As I've mentioned (or if you check my bio), I originally grew about ten years or so ago. I was renting a house with a full cellar at the time, so the opportunity arose. When I first set up my grow area back then I had purchased all the equipment, including a 400w HPS system along with a 430 Son Agro bulb. After a few grows I upgraded to a 600w HPS.

Years went by and I have moved from here and there, so all my stuff got lost/forgotten through the years. I have my own house now so I am able to grow, but I could not find my old equipment anywhere, so I ended up buying new, including LED Panels and two 150w HPS lights.

Long story short I ran into an old friend over the weekend, and we got talking and he reminded me I have some stuff in storage at his folks house (I was living with him at the time but we went our separate ways through the years). It clicked a light bulb over my head so I went over there today and sure as shit I found my 400 HPS WITH the 430w Son Agro bulb!!! I just got it home, cleaned it up and it fired right up!!!!! I am so stoked!!!! I just started flowering yesterday, and the lights don't come until 7 PM my time, so I am going to wait until 6:50 or so and swap out my lights!!! Even with my 4 red LED panels I am only throwing 38,500 lumens versus the 52,000 from the Son Agro!!!

So I have been walking around with a half a stiffy since (sorry ladies)! I am about to order a cool tube to cut down on the heat. I am just so happy right now!!!!!! bongsmilie

Thanks lamopa! thats the best looking CK out of the 3, the mazar x WR is still very short, bushy, nodes are right on top of each other.... I had the light (600w MH dimmed to 75%) at probably 18 inches or so, that must of been to intense, i put it to about 2 feet and that seemed to have helped a lot

You are looking good! Is your light on a cool tube? I keep mine maybe 8 inches away without one, and the heat is not too bad. Then again I currently have only 300w, not 600w. And MH burns hotter than HPS. Other than that FJG, looking awesome! As I said once they hit that reservoir you'll notice a HUGE difference in growth. I'm talking an inch a day when on 18/6 easily. bongsmilie

The hood is air cooled yes, but its not a cool tube... a regular rectangle reflector 6 inch air cooled, right now at plant level the temps are perfect all 18 hours from 75-80... before it was more 79-84

Awesome, dude! I just installed my 430w this evening!!! I ordered a cool tube off Amazon, it should be in Thursday! I am so excited about finding this light! I just wish I remembered it sooner instead of spending the money I did!!

Hey its always alright to have too much than too little! lol

Make sure to post the pics of it when its set up... so you have 2 rooms/tents going ? Or when flower hits you will?

I never took clones, this will be my first time, i have that small cabinet i mentioned a couple post back, it should be able to hold 3 or 4 clones for a while... height is not an issue, just the footprint is small, contemplating keeping cfl's or going for a t5

Hey FGJ, here's a couple pics (sorry about the annoying waves - I was hoping with the ballast outside my tent they would go away!):
SUNP0002.jpgSUNP0004.jpg

I currently flower in my tent (though I did use it for veg for a few weeks). I clone in a Rubbermaid tub with an aeroponics cloner:
SUNP0015.jpgSUNP0007.jpg

I plan on taking clones tomorrow to fill it up. I'll veg and establish a mom in similar tubs, except for the mom I'll use a smaller, flatter Rubbermaid tub as a hempy in a larger tub with some CFL's. I'll also veg in another tub using Solo Cup Hempy's. They can grow to almost a foot in the Solo cups. bongsmilie

Thats a nice LED, i dont know how they compare in watts too cfl's or MH, but what is that the equivalent of? I bet it puts out no heat at all which is what im looking for, for my veg box, with the clones i can place them directly in jiffy pellets? then to my solo hempys? I been trying to study up on cloning, just curious with how to cut and plant off such a young node, most tutorials are from vegged mothers that have much more growth... where would you take your clones from on these current plants?

Hey FJG - that LED is a cheapo panel made for aquariums. It is perfect for clones - the light is not too harsh and it throws no heat like you mentioned. Beyond using it for sensitive clones the panels are pretty useless, however.

As far as clones start them in an aeroponics or DWC cloner (aeroponics is probably better - it has a higher success rate). Here's the one I have:
http://thelittlestgiant.com/Store/default-Plants-1-SingleItemName-ID.asp?id=19

Once they show roots after a few weeks or so put them into Solo Cup Hempy's - you won't need the Jiffy pellets. You'll have to water every day with Solo cup hempy's, however.

As far as where you take them, usually the second node down is fine. Wait until yours are at least 12 inches. You can also clone up to a week into flowering. Some people have even taken clones longer into flowering than that.

Thats very informative lamopa thank you. so you just take the root right from the aeroponics and place it in your perlite/ verm mix solo cups?

Yep! You'll be surprised how big the roots get in the aeroponic cloner! Just make sure to bury it a few inches in the perlite for added stability. Once in the Solo hempy's put them under not-to-harsh lighting such as CFL's or LED's for the first few days to make sure they establish. I plan on keeping my clones in Solo hempy's in a Rubbermaid tub with two 23w CFL's for a few weeks. The light is not too harsh and they won't grow too quickly while I am waiting for my other plants to finish in the tent. Once the current ones are finished I'll transplant my clones into larger buckets, put them in the tent for a few days under 18/6 to make sure they are well established, then set them to flower.
