hmmm ... Does this sentence support the idea of a flush of nutes in mid-grow? .. just a thought

When the plant is short of water and/or nutrients, it will devote more assimilates (photosynthesis energy)to producing more cells in the root tip. This also generates more root hairs

I like to flush multiple times with clearex or a weak nute solution at least every 2-3 weeks usually closer to 2. I have always done this so I don't really have anything to base it on but I think it really helps to fatten up my buds.

Well that phrase I highlighted suggests in a round about way that nutrient uptake may be increased by flushing. .. As the plant searches for the nutrient it grows more root hairs as they go looking for them.

Hey ... weird thought. ... what does that process remind you guys of? ... to me it reminds me of a female flower pistills searching for male pollen. ... what if on a genetic programming level they are both using the same 'search' algorithm. lol.

edit;
Makes no difference to the grower but as someone who holds a 'lay' interest in Maths in nature I see fractals. :eyesmoke:

It could be done on a commercial scale, but that would suck lol. Maybe if the hempy buckets were 50L or larger totes and grew trees with vertical lighting. I think there would be a limit on the amount of 2L - 1gal plants someone could look after on a solo scale. Unless ofcourse they had a modified watering system :)

solo's the only way to do it.

It would probably be best to create 2 flood zones of say 500 x 2L Hempys and flooding one area to drain into the other area.

or 4 zones of 250.

Crop about 125oz every 2 weeks. lol

A method could be to set them up like the rice paddies of Asia. Have them terraced so the nutes on the top terraces feed the lower ones and then pumped back to the top.

Since i never kept up on my journal i love posting pics hope you all dont mind. First pic is sandwidow YUM! The rest are my seed crosses securedownload-377.jpg ok i lied one pic of the skunk toosecuredownload-368.jpg now my seed crosses to be honest i have em labeled but nnly for clones no idea yet which ones are blue dream crosses and which are elephant. I can guess but wont know till i smoke if then...guessing this is blue dream by its structure guessing these are BD crosses too securedownload-432.jpg securedownload-471.jpgsecuredownload-369.jpgsecuredownload-268.jpg securedownload-352.jpgsecuredownload-430.jpgsecuredownload-430.jpgsecuredownload-356.jpgsecuredownload-444.jpgsecuredownload-308.jpgjust not sure about the rest...securedownload-1336.jpg

WOW ...Boy, those are buds frosty. .. bet you're well pleased with them. They look like nice Cola's dude, great bud structure. Nice Job.

GDP doesnt produce colas like that :-(

Moe im lucky enough to have family in the Emerald triangle and live in Seattle. I was gifted some awesome genetics and got really lucky when i crossed this N Cali Maui Wowie (which was crossed with an anonymous male from a greenhouse devoted to Males for breeding upwind of the maui wowie) with local version of an elephant and clone version of BD. Im stoked over the result super lemony and candy smells with some very decent colas. Im sure if you grew em they would prob look better! Id love to share my genetics but i know youre in a far away land and properly paranoid.

Pic update! A little bit of weird burnishness took place you might notice some (i'm guessing a little heat, maybe some pH swing, but most likely just no love for 10+ days. The autowatering system worked to keep em pretty healthy and the thermostat seems to have done fairly well with temps (but i'm still trying to get it dialed in..any advice would be appreciated!)....oc+ and good tap water pH'd to 5.8-6.3 seem to be keeping things happy though :leaf: :peace: :leaf:

also, for those of you who keep up with PAR T5, any suggestions for a 12 bulb lineup?
be easy!

Edit: P.S. I'm getting a weird twisting effect on two of these and I'm not sure if it's a coincidence of genetic characteristics, or an environmental/handling issue...any ideas? (specs. will be on journal (link in sig.))

Twisting leaves can be a bunch of things. In my experience it has mostly been PH being slightly out. Try a range of 5.8 - 6.0, you will notice the twisty goes away. I just recently had the same issue with a bunch of seedlings and just added a bit more lemon juice to get my ph down a little lower. Besides that they look really healthy n thick growth. :)

I'm building a system similar to your hempy set up. I was going to put holes in the lids of 5 gal. buckets for 3 gal. pots , but instead of letting the roots get in the reservoir , I was going to use nylon rope to wick nutes from the reservoir. Seems like it would be efficient and easy , but I never hear any mention of wick systems.Have any of you kind sages ever tied it? It took me 2hrs. to get to post 19 , so I skipped to the end.If my Question is redundant , Im sorry , but I'd really like to know if I'm pissin in the wind with this wick idea.
