Figured I would start a thread for those of us with interests in the world market. General discussion is welcomed on just about everything related to how the market moves. Feel free to post your potential watch list and we can discus it amongst peers. Any big news that could have a large impact is welcome. The more we know the better prepared we will be. Instead of each of us having to research for ourselves we can share increasing how much we know & decreasing search time. I know a lot of people specialize in certain fields so we are all looking at different news. Even though we many be actively searching different sectors big news can have an effect outside of its own domain. The more we know the better you can link the effects of certain news and trends.

It will also be awesome to share your watch list because like before we most likely specialize in different types of trading. Some of us use technical some use analytically & you cant forget the fundamental traders. By posting your selection we can each chime in about how we see it from our trading point of view and make overall more accurate decisions.

NPV looks to be finishing off a cup and handle.
Oh man that reminds me of a former work buddy who made me read O'Neil's "canslim" book.

Opinion on this weeks announcement. The fed will say it's europes turn to stimulate the markets.

Mario draghi will try to do something but international banks won't budge on buying more bonds.

Bad outcome or subpar stimulus deal

We have Goldmans short term view, which basically, blaa

And Bill Gross's more long term view.

All of the economic malaise has been because of too much debt, especially personal debt.
There are two ways out of this problem, one is default the other is to inflate your way out.

With real negative bonds yields we are on the deflationary default train. I am sure you all have known more than one who filed bankruptcy or foreclosed in the last few years, this is good economic news. There is no way to spend much with the debt loads people had.

At some point tactics are going to change, maybe the next president or following one. There going to chooses the inflation option. This is going to be a big boom for equities, even bigger if we stay in the defaulting mode longer.

So a big boom in equities is coming, a DOW of 20,000 or more.

We are also in a depression. But it is somewhat hidden. The American economy is like someone who has a serious injury, they have been given a pain killer to mask the symptoms. But root causes need to be addressed to facilitate a real recovery. Being in denial will not help in finding a solution.

Could we have a stock market run up in a depression, yes it is very possible.

Real wages have been going down for years. Household net worth is down big time, really nothing has happened like this since the great depression. Remember not everyone was poor in the depression.
This does not mean you cant make money and accumulate wealth.

There are many great bargains to be had.

Real wages have been going down since the 1970's they are at new lows.

Real household wealth is down by a lot, this has not been seen since the great depression.

Job Growth -1.1% for the last decade not seen since the great depression

State of the US economy

What are the one percenters doing?

A major drought is upon us, the biggest in decades and we will be paying more at the grocery store. Because we export a lot of food its going have a much bigger effect elsewhere, revolutions are often started on empty stomachs.

Wadges are going down and prices continue to go up, in the 70's you had something called the misery index it used inflation and unemployment as inputs.
Now we have very high unemployment, moderate inflation and wadge deflation. In the 70's they called it stagflation. We need to find a new word to describe the current phenomenon.

A bunch of charts from Goldman.

Seeing orders come in at the last seconds of the day, big gigantic sell orders.

It might be a good time to reduce size and buy some extra long puts.

If the market tanks it would be a good time to buy in at a discount.

QE3 is here in repos, maybe a flat gyrating market

Fuck the technicals.

This economy will go straight down the shitter.

I wouldn't bother shorting, because the stock market may cease to exist, it will be that bad...

Once I started trading candlestick/price action everything changed for me...I am a currency guy, gotta love making money off of nothing other then money! Anyways will start posting charts and trades and if anyone is interested in the forex market hit me up...I am not the best in the world...but I have continually grown my account and even supported my family for 6 months off trading...which was brutally stressful!
