Working Out Nute Ratios

I'm veggin some trees at the moment.. 2 kannabia big band.. one WW from GHS and arjans ultra haze 2 from GHS.. coming into my 6th week of veg their about 1.5 feet tall the inter-nodal distance is quite regular at 1.5cm due to my MH.. its going alright.. I want to give them proper nute support in flower.. I've learnt from the uncle ben a little from illumination too..

I'm going to put down my canna and try to pick up some dyna grow..

I'd like to find out more on nute ratios and how to work out much to add of each in terms of dyna grow.. my maths is bad.. thanks

Get an ppm meter. TDs is nice and cheap as long as you dont buy milwakee. HM makes a decent one for around 30 bucks.

Then mix all your nutrients in a bucket with an airstone (optional), after you let it mix for an hour, turn the air pump off and take a reading. In your stage, given your plant hieght, I would reccomend 1,150 ppm's. That uncludes everything your going to mix with it.

In my case: 1/2 cup big bloom
4 tbls grow big
2 tbls cal mag
3 tbls liquid root inocculant (benefox)
1/2 tsp ph down

egads....this is all horrifying to me

if i use more than two cap fulls of nutes per phase per plant my plants should be dead, or i have done something very very wrong...

ya its about that when you break it down. I feed 12 plants with it and make about 4-1/2 gallons of feed at a time. I like to make about a gallon more to feed my bigger plants in the next couple days so i just leave the airstone on in my bucket for a couple days

Yes, this is indeed a good idea..
With a ppm meter can it only be used in water, or can i use it in soil too?

if you are using dyna-gro note there are a couple feeding suggestions. i use the liquid bloom (3-12-6) and per instructions i feed every time i water, but around 500 ppm with the 1/2 tsp dose. depending on the plants they may be able to tolerate higher ppm, but please note that ppm in excess of 1000 is usually not for feeding with every watering, more like every other watering unless you have some monster plants. ppm meters are for liquids. there are soil probe things to measure what's in the soil, but i've never found one that works well.

edit: the dyna gro pro series has different feeding suggestions.

after hearing what illumination was saying, seems to make sense, i'm going to use the foliage pro, pro-tekt and magpro..

i came out of some nute burn weeks back i've flushed em and all now but i needa check if the soil is salty, guess i could do a ph check on soil.. i've read just mix the soil with water and add the indicator..
