Same here! I have the chicks under heat lamps right now, they should be ready to go out in 3 more weeks. I am picking up a small flock of goslings to for perimeter control. I dont care how stealth someone is, you hope a fence into a gooses area and they will sound the alarm. Loud enough to hear anyway.

Next year I am getting goats! Wanna do there pastures right so they dont escape.
Escape? Like the rippers are trapped in with the goats? How about a pig mote? lol

Is it true if you use 60w light instead of a 100w heat lamp the feathers will be thicker?
How long of a flush before butchering...?

Ok, time to wake and bake...

Goats are known escape artists, especially the pygmies.

Yea...they are great climbers, and can be very determined to get out, specially if the see something tasty they want.

The geese will actually be penned in same area as the greenhouse, so if someone hops that last fence that the greenhouse is also in, they will honk and go berserk. IDK if you have ever seen geese in a pen either, they perimeter check on their own, see way better in the dark then dogs, and are in general, much more territorial on their own. Certainly cant restrain someone like a trained guard dog, but are cheap alarms that also produce copious amounts of fertilizer.

IDK about feathers vs heat lamps. I have found if the light is set right, and the brooder is big enough, the sort of meander in and out of the lights hot spot to regulate themselves.

Every village in Vietnam had a herd of Geese, they were better than dogs for guarding. We avoided the villages of we were trying to be un observed because of the geese....lol

hey doubleJJ,

Would they come after you guys if they saw you, or just honk like crazy?

is that from th seeds? I grew it as a freebie. It made monster colas, but they didn't weigh what you would expect as it was pretty open bud. good smoke, wasnt anything special though. only one seed though, so hardly a good example. mine stayed short to.
