Woman arrested after shooting at marijuana eradication helicopter

AVA_ A 69-year-old woman is facing charges after a National Guard helicopter used for marijuana eradication was fired upon in rural southwest Missouri.

A Highway Patrol news release said a Missouri National Guard pilot and a state trooper were flying over rural Douglas County on Wednesday morning when the aircraft was shot at.

A trooper on the ground located the woman, who admitted that she fired at the helicopter as it flew overhead.

She was taken to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and held pending charges.

There were no injuries and no damage to the chopper. The investigation is ongoing.

They shot down some unmanned drones in california this season from what i heard. I think i heard it here on RIU as a matter of fact but i don't remember the link. Amazing how afew well placed shotgun blasts can turn 100's of thousands of poorly spent tax payer dollars into a worthless pile of scrap.

Sigh.... I guess I'll be odd man out on this story......

As a gun owning American and outspoken advocate of the right to bear arms and carry concealed guns for the purpose of self-defense.... this woman is EXACTLY the kind of NUT that liberal "gun grabbers" use as example of why Americans shouldn't be allowed to own or carry firearms.

I admire the desire to stand up against the injustice of mj being illegal... but firing at a police or coast guard helicopter is NOT the way to go about it! Not only could she have killed the people on board..... a crashing helicopter could also harm/kill people on the ground.

Murder is NOT THE WAY to earn brownie points for our cause.

I hope they throw the book at her!
