I saw the movie the other day. As entertaining as it was I was confounded by their portrayal of the states of methaqualone intoxication.
I was also thinking that they made the high seem like something no one would ever actually like.
who would purposefully take something that would keep you from being able to walk or talk unless there was some other unexplained allure.
but just so you know, there really are such "stages". Well sort of.
the tingle part is real but it is almost overwhelming, to call it a tingle is under playing it. It is a body sensation with no equal and it is what many people came for.
I think they call the next one the drool stage?
what actually happens is that you begin to get sloppy, you cannot negotiate doors, walls or even standing properly. But what is going on in your head is a dreamy lucidity. You watch yourself fall or bump into things
and you are in the midst of ongoing, powerful extremely pleasurable rushes.
you are floating in a world of pillows, slightly numb all over and insanely happy.
this is going on in the 500 mg range. If you have a small amount of alcohol the effects are amplified and only if you continue to drink does the high turn into a standard drunk place.
continue through 600 to 700 mg and you find yourself unable to form words. You may or may not have those words staged and ready. Sometimes you simply can't find them.
but. You are now absolutely taken over by a combination of heavy wonderful thruming sensations eminating from your spine.
you may gasp or moan, they are so good and while that is happening, the world around you is contracting into a warm, white bright place where there us only intense bliss.
I think they describe the next as catatonia, or palsey or amnesia.
but what is happening is that you are finally in the verge of blacking out. You have long ago given up the desire to move around.
the pleasure is intense and you are still lucid but there is a mind shuttering effect. You will no longer be able to have conversations in your head because you lose your train of thought over and over again
this is in one gram range. If course the presumption that there is no tolerance. It builds rapidly and I don't know how the wolf of wallstreet gang managed.
at this point however, no amount of cocaine could alter your abilities one iota. You would not be able to stand.
depending on how you stagger the doses, you may be able to have that tingling along with the other effects as the phases are about the natural profession if effects AND the dose. For most, 300 mg will never get you to the place where you cannot talk and you may not get to that energetic serenity that comes at about the hour and a half point.
but you can take one and a half, get to that quiet place and then take another and get the energy overlaid on top of the more peaceful feelings that you get after the rush.
I may have told this, but hey, I'm old.
I had just bought 100 fresh, authentic lemmons and was rolling them up. We used to roll ten in an aluminum foil tube. Nice pack for a wild evening with all your friends. I don't remember what I charged.
so I took one. The rush was grand so I chased it right away, half an hour later I was still at the tail end of the first one and hooked down a third. Half an hour after, my addled but still clear mind said that I probably would not be able to manage moving my fingers or drinking water after the next so I took two.
I opened my eyes I don't know when and I was on my back in the hallway. There were two paramedics looking down at me saying something about not having to have come.
my girlfriend was crying.
I went back to sleep.
the next day I got up and counted my pills. . Now my girlfriend claimed she didn't take any but she wouldn't have taken more than one.
some could have rolled under something but I assure you I looked before I moved several years later.
I had 90 left.
