Wispy buds. Can I snip 'em off?

Hey mr. I was thinking the same thing except the leaves do look very light green EXCEPT for that ONE top cola.. I have never seen a plan that looks like that.... JUST one dark cola.. ????

I am guessing there is plenty of FOOD (nutrients in the soil) but the pH is off... what do yo think?

The leaves, fan leaves, could be loosing their green becuause of the 4+ weeks in flowering...

great photos.. great cfl grow.. fun to look at those plants!

I think you're right..his yellowing is probably caused by nute lockout from incorrect PH levels.

I finally found the page I was looking for..it's kind of a weed troubleshooting manual.

Soil pH will be about 6.0 after watering, but climbs to 6.8 - 6.9 as it grows closer to needing water. I'll check it when they wake up tomorrow and report back. The true leaves on the cola are pretty light green. I'll keep an eye on the pH.

That center cola just shot up and started budding buds on top of buds all in about a 10 day period. It is about 12" long (the plant is 25") and just shy of the width of a 16oz water bottle at its widest point. The strain is PPP. Do you think this grow will produce some nice smoke?

I checked the soil's pH this morning and it is 6.1 - 6.2 depending on where I put the meter. They got water on Wed. March 12, and don't look like they need more just yet. I've been ph'ing the water based on the soil's pH with a very small amount of vinegar (maybe 1 teaspoon per gallon or less). I think I may try a VERY weak flowering nute at the next watering and flush a week or so later in preparation for harvest. Please stop me if you think this is a bad idea. Thanks to everyone that has helped me out through this grow!

If you are growing in soil the PH of your runoff water should be 6.5.

If it's lower than 6.5 in the runoff, raise the level of the water you put in until your runoff is 6.5.

You could also get a bag of gardening lime (the powdered kind, not pellets) and add 1/4 teaspoon to each gallon of water; this will "buffer" the roots so they can take a little more variation in the PH..just try it, don't think about it too much :)

Hey email, you can check out new pics here: https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/50550-poppinsmokey-s-first-grow-cfl-8.html. Please stop by and let me know what you think. Btw, how was the smoke from your PPP? Did you harvest a couple of buds early to smoke, if so when? How long did they take to finish? I reread your grow every so often, it was amazing.

I didn't check the pH of the runoff, I used a pH meter that test the soil's pH, but thanks for the tip Muddy.

that is a nice grow you have (I checked it out). The PPP is great -- very cerebral, soaring, and energetic - just how l like it! I had to harvest early but didn't regret it. I think they probably had at least another 2-3 weeks to really reach any full potential. But it does the trick for me. The harvest part of the journal starts here:
