Wiring question

Hey all,
I just want to make sure what I'm planning is safe. Can I use one of these fixtures:

And just wire it directly to a cut-off end of a 3 prong plug like this:

Is it safe to run the entire fixture off a single 3 prong plug? I'm kind of clueless when it comes to wiring/electrical.

If ur runnin CFLs yea u can use that, u could also add a Y adapter to each socket 4 2 bulbs instead of just the one in each socket.

get a grommet or clamp so that the cord will not chafe on the sharp metal edges but yes its what i use for veg
