window sill grow in march

ok so i planted 9 seeds in clear cups by my window sill, its still too cold to plant out side, i live in northeastern america. can i expect any results. Also, i had the idea(if they sprout) to put another clear cup on top, possibly creating a greenhouse effect, would this work, or only look cool? i only need them to sprout and stay alive before the outdoor seasons starts.

I'd cover up the clear cup. The roots need to be in the dark.
