Ok I bought 1 bag of perlite, 1 bag of organic MG bone meal, and regular potting soil that says feeds up to 6 months.
Will the combination of these work?

after germination, first transplant should be in only soil, no nutes, also like he said you'll need some phosphorus, molasses is a good source, bat guano is another.
Go light on the fertilizer, bone meal needs to be "aged" before it's completely available to the plant so you might want some fish emulsion or cow manure, rabbit manure, etc.
Don't put the inside one in the 5 gallon without it being in other pots closer to the 5 gallon size, otherwise the soil will retain too much water and will rot the roots.

Ok so don't use the bucket? Would just mixing some perlite with potting soil be good for starting?
