Im thinking about starting out a very small grow room in a cardboard box (:hump:) with 1-2 plants using some seeds i got in a bag of mids. Ive never grown before but read alot.

I really have no way to get to a place that sells good lights, so I went down to good ole food lion. They have a normal lightbulb in there that is 95 watts and 1,500 lumens.

Would this be enough to grow 1 or 2 plants and will it work?

My goal is to get a total of 1 ounce. What do you all Think? Thanks for the help guys :)

No incandescent bulbs (no matter how many lumens they output) dont put out enough light in the right spectrum to effectively grow the plant. compact flouros may be an option for you though

regular incandescent bulbs do not have the proper spectrum. requirement to grow plants. you must buy a cfl (compact flourescent) these come ion a variety of wattages but you are looking for about 50w per plant. I don't know the formulas for lights, but it's on the front site page under growfaqs there are also a few posts just today covering lights.
anyways, 2-3 plants from baggie seeds? I have 16 from baggie seeds 3 males, if you grow 2-3 plant expect 2 to be male start with about 4-6 seeds usually 1/2 of baggie seeds will be males.
back to lights, put them as close as you can w/out bruning your handwhen held between lights and plants for cfl about 10". Closer if you can get a fan in there which you should get anyhow. A fan will strengthen the stems promoting heavier bud growth later on.
