Will this be enough light?

I'm planning on having 1 veg/clone combo chamber that's about 4 feet long and 1.5-2feet wide..I plan on putting a hanging fixture with 6 HO fluorescents on there. It's going to be a custom fixture because I can't afford those expensive ones but I can make one for about $120. Unless someone knows where I can get reaaally cheap 6lamp HO fixtures I found some HO custom fixtures (they just have ballast w/ cords connected to sockets) that's for making custom acquarium-like lighting for $38 shipped.

Secondly for the flowering box, I plan on it being able to support up to 4 fully mature plants. I was hoping I could get away with a 400w HPS on this box, since it's going to be in a cool tube & close to the plants.

Will this make for significantly smaller buds and/or worse yields big time, should I go 600w, and can I in that space if I have a cool tube setup with a 90cfm duct fan pushing air in on one side of the box straight through the tube and out the other side w/ another 90cfm duct fan over there pulling it out..

Then on top of that, I'm planning on having a carbon filter at the top of the box which air will be pulled through with a 120CFM (or 240cfm? opinions anyone?) panasonic whisperline centrifugal fan, out w/ 1ft of duct through the top of the box into an airtight box where it will mix with ONA and then out through 1ft of ducting.
I'm hoping this will neutralize odors and keep heat down.

I'm planning on making the box 5 feet wide, 5 or 6 feet tall, and 2 feet deep.
Wondering with that venting if I can use a 400 or 600w without heat problems and which is enough light for that area/4 plants?

Any suggestions, hints, tips, etc, very much appreciated. The goal here is to make a stealth setup in my bedroom sliding door closet (3 door wide one, but only 2 feet deep) with a flowering box that will produce very high quality buds like those found here in the dispensaries in socal, without smelling up the house (and if possible my room).

I'm willing to go to extensive lengths to set this up and have read tons now on various hydro/aero techniques, setups, and grows. I'm willing to invest lots of money in this. I spend approx $800/mo on marijuana for medical needs and it's still not enough. I'm a medical card holder and wish to grow my own.

If anyone here's invested money in making a stealth cab and could do it all over again a diff way wouldn't mind giving me some setup plans I might do it.
If I did I'd be sure to keep you posted on how it went the whole way..

I use a 400w in my closet 4'x2'x8' and I have a decent amount of heat to deal with. I would definitely advise you to go no larger than 400w in that amount of space. Unless you plan on having some very good ventilation or A/C pumped in there.

Get yourself a nice inline centrifugal fan and a can filter. A little pricey (maybe 300-400 for both depending on size), but way more reliable than those cheapo inline like you pictured. Carbon filters + Ona gel work wonders.

I agree with all of the above. High velocity fans are a pretty penny. 150 bucks should get you 6" 400+ CFM fan. I would highly doubt any heat issues with 400 cfms, through a 400w HPS, along with good air movement in the box or cab, tent, whatever.

I have built many stealth cabs, every single one got better. The best was when they made it to the dumpster. The issue of being light tight, temp( why buy a 150 dollar fan for a 400w, when the same fan will work great with 1k), were all to much to handle. I would not grow if I had to maintain a high degree of stealth.
I am a MM patient. Being discreet is very important no matter what, but I don't worry about it being stealth to the max. Nobody would ever know there is a grow in my location, until you made it into the flowering room, which is not a primary room of the house.....

I'm planning on doing this:


Using 2x inline fans to blow through the cool tube & 1 centrifugal fan (240cfm, panasonic whisperline (quiet)).

On the lower one I put it as 1 centrifugal fan to vent the whole box including the cool tube.

Any suggestions on what would be better? I'm thinking 2 inline fans (1 blowing in from one side, one blowing out on the other) to cool the cooltube and 1 centrifugal fan to vent the box & operate the carbon filter/odor control.. (and suck stale air out)..

Does anyone think either of these setups is better, and if so which?

Do you plan to use the carbon filter & ona gel? Which way is the airflow moving? Are you ending up in the ona bucket or starting there? I've heard that if you use ONA in your room, it may change the taste of your MJ....It might give it some kind of perfumy taste.
