Will this be enough light for now?

So....I am growing 2 plants in soil.

Up until today I had 1 42W CFL hanging horizontally over each plant approximately 2cm away.

My plants have gotten to their 3rd leaf set so I thought that I would try and get some more light on the babies so....

What I did was now I have 2 42W CFL's hanging about 1 inch away from one plant....

And 4 23W CFL's hanging about 2 inches away from the other plant. I used 2 bulb adapters (splits one socket into 2) so that I could hand the 23W's but now they are much further away from the plants than the 42W was.

Any suggestions?
Will this be enough light even though the 23W cfls arent right up on the leaves?

And will the lights being further cause my plants to stretch? So far with the single 42W CFL all the leaves have stayed bushy and the plant is still short.

Should be fine... I've vegged quite well just using two 26W on a Y splitter..... get them as close but if you get too much stretching you can pinch the stem(supercropping) which slightly injures it and slows growth.. it sounds more ghastly then it is.. its done by lots of people to slow upward growth allowing lower growth to catch up.... you can also bend tie... LST .. see charts in my sig...

Yeah, vegging with CFLs is zero prob. I just trashed a plant that was under 2 23W (I think) and was bushy as all get up. It was the only light in the room and all on that plant.

(us HPS snobs can be a bit biased) I haven't done CFL flowering, so can't comment.
