Will these strains be finished by Oct 1 in Ontario?

Hey Guys,

Plans are in the works for next years outdoor as this past year was devastating losing 95% of my crop to males (first time using reg seeds). This year thus far I have 50 White kush fem seeds, 1 reserva privada OG18, 1 reserva privada OG Kush, 1 Reserva privada Headband, 1 DNA genetic Cannalope kush. I also just purchased 10 iranian autoflowers as a fall back. Just wondering if anyone knows when some of these strains will be finished. I can take clones of the freebie seeds if they will finish by OCT 1 which is when I always pull my crop. The white kush I got from a friend that grows medicinally and has a massive seed collection but I'm unsure of the exact genetics.

It's hard to be certain. They look like solid strains though. I would be surprised if they went past the first week of october.

I grew a single Headband last year. It was more sativa leaning I think and began flowering late. It was on course to finish by about Oct 7, before it got ripped.

If it were me, I'd probably devote a good bit of effort to those Iranians.

Its all how you grow them, I tried a few different tricks last year had a kandy kush an 8-14 week strain finish mid sept. Id say early July when i started seeing pre flowers I moved them to a shady spot to kick start flower and to help them stretch a little more. They were in 3 gallon pots then were moved into the ground week 2-3 of flower and they just kept flowering. I figure I saved 3-4 weeks harvesting mid sept instead of mid oct. 4-5oz off a 4 ft plant.

I'm growing:

Lemon OG Kush

RP- OG#18
Buddha Tahoe OG (Someone found this plant last year however the plant its self is massive with a thick stem and huge fan leaves so I plan to keep these one small. starting them late in the season.

I am an Ontario outdoor grower as well. Honestly I would recommend other strains that are strong for outdoors, from personal experience. I tried Kush before and it turns out similar to other strains in terms of quality because its outdoors. Some strains are more suited for outdoors (greater resistance to pests, mould, disease, cold resistance, etc.) and produce great yields. Like Barneys Farm Pineapple Chunk or Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel. Last year I did not have a single mouldy/rotten bud, because I carefully picked out the strains.

Also, any Sativa influenced strains usually finish a bit later than Indica dominant strains. And if its a rainy season, Sativa dominant strains will give poorer results.

Also - there is no issue with using regular seeds. Although I prefer feminized seeds to cut down on the work. You just need to carefully study how to spot males early and pull them out. Best way to do so is by preparing your regular seeds indoors. Germinate them (use veg lights) with 20-4 cycle, then a week later switch to 18-6 cycle and after 3 weeks later switch to 12-12 hours cycle. Within 2 weeks you will easily see which ones are male. Then revert the cycle to 18-6 and in two weeks your plants will be ready to go in the ground. I usually start my indoor germinating started in mid-April. Plant 3rd or 4th week of May. By then the plants are very good size (30-70cm tall) and after 1-2 weeks in the ground they really start growing big. I get at least a pound per plant, always, using this method. You get a head start, and the bigger plants have easier time adjusting to the shock of outdoor trainsplanting and are stronger in dealing with late May night chills.

I also do not recommend trying out someone's seeds. When people mix different genetics to get new strains, it sounds amazing and all, but what are the chances it is a stable strain? If the same strain was pollinated (male and female), then its a sure bet that you will get the same results. But if you mix different strains it may give you unpredictable results. Plants may have unstable genetics and will suffer or give you bad results. I am speaking from personal experience here. Dont waste your time - get good seeds from reputable brands.

I grow Iranian auto every year now and it takes 90 days from start to finish every time. theres no other strain I have tried that comes close for potency and yield though there are a LOT of breeders and seed sellers who claim to have something as good but I haven't seen a strain yet that actually is. Avoid the Ryder strains at all costs. They are low yield low potency crap

Yes I am down IN Ont also last Summer I let my crop go well passed October and First frost. and I didn't pull my plants untill November last year.. Still harvest damn close to 9 pounds.

Heres is only a few pics of some of what I had last year.

Year I Probably could of pulled them in Oct but I left to do its own thing for another month. Its just it gets real sickning around Late Sept Early Oct bause thats when the Theives are around and coming out. They get on they're four-wheelers right after it rains and drive the outter ridges of the Corn fields Sometime theres two of them one that will drive the other stands up on the back looking above the Corn and almost acting a like a dog with there noses in the air.

Needles to say I'm always prepared for these fucking kids. though.

Id keep an eye out for herms, might ruin a potentially good crop. From experience dnas stuff tend to herm.

ALthough a bunch of feminized seeds aint so bad, especially if they r the strains mentioned. Just expect the hermie trait to pass through to some offspring.

I just finished up an indoor grow of the Iranian Autoflower and Iranian G13, Iranian G13 is much better in the bag appeal department, the Iranian Auto smells like hay until the nugs are cracked..I pulled 3 Iranian Autos on day 45 of flower, I let another IAF go an extra week and that one really bulked up with the extra time. Both strains are highly potent, I prefer the taste of the IG13 but yeah Doc says ANY Iranian cross will finish by Sept 15th (if planted by a reasonable time, of course). I just ordered the Iranian Cindy and Iranian Diesel, bout to order the Iranian Chemdawg and something else as well, having a hard time making up my mind though!!! Good luck.

All the iranian crosses I grew are great plants but that Iranian Diesel is huge and FIRE. I think I may have to grow it instead of the iranian G13
