Will the buds swell? Day 65 og #18

Here's the set up:
5x7 closet

400 watt mh for veg (4 weeks)

400 watt mh + 1000 watt hps for bloom (74 days) (65 since first pistols)

26 og kush #18 females from seed (Reserva Privada's)

Plants about 3 feet from top of pots with 2 distinct phenotypes

1 pheno is very dense and tight while the other are very long buds/colas that are sparse and airy. Some continue to have new calaxyes making funny looking buds with still all white pistils. The first pheno type is already having about 40 pct red hairs and more proportionally round buds.

avg temp 85-92 day and 74 avg at night

Used botanicare pure blend pro for veg and bloom (soil formula)

Many leaves are yellow and curling, even the ones on top coming from the buds

Started the flush today with 2x reg water and no nutes.

Questions:
1. Will the airy phenotype swell during the flush and is 80 days total long enough for the og #18? I plan on chopping in 15 days.

2. Would molasses or any other late bloom additives help with bud swell or is it too late. Will flushing alone help bud swell ?

3. Some of the bigger buds are size of baseballs and continue to grow new calaxyes and pistils. They are dense inside but sparse on outside. Is this normal and will they receide into the buds to create denser more compact buds?

4. Is there anything I could improve on my set up next go around such as lighting , nutes , or anything at all. All suggestions are appreciated and will not be taken personlly :)

I plan on doing confidential cheese on my next bc that was what I did before this one and had great results .

+ rep for all help!

Will try to get pics uP soon

sounds good, mine sure swelled in the last 10-14 days a bunch, take half and leave half so you can see the diffrence is what i would do, check out my thread to see what i cot cookin under the 400 watter

I'm just hoping that the sparse ones swell . I'm going 14 more days w the flush and don't have the option of goin longer . I'm just hopin these girls finish up in time . That will be 80 days total and 89 days of 12:12 . Hopin for the best

well the molasses help the swelling by feeding the beneficial bacteria to help break down nutes so your plant uses them more efficiently that equate to better bud production so its kinda indirectly helping the swelling; i would use this throughout the growth cycle with tea's and additives like white shark.

question though; why are you using a mh + hps for flowering? you've done that before? mh doesn't have the right spectrum for flowering or are you using one of the dual arc bulbs that have every spectrum?

I used the extra light bc I had so many plants and also a 5x7 area that I didn't think the 1000 watt alone would be sufficient . I figured I'd give it a try . I thought it surely couldn't hurt . Could this result in fluffier buds and should I take it out ? It is a reg mh not the dual spec

i think your 5 x7 is ok with that 1 - 1000w HPS; I think the MH light may be causing that fluffiness. not sure how many plants you have in that space but i'm sure you know to put as many directly under the light as possible but you should be able to utilize the edges as long as you have a reflective surface on the walls.

Ive seen a lot of people using both lately . I also heard mh causes tighter smaller buds but these are large long fluffy buds with the other half being large dense buds . Maybe some are just further along

great question...i'm not sure but i'm leaning to say that it may help. I know people that use those artificial sweetners during the flush but i think they do something much different from molasses. Couldn't hurt to try. You may not get much benefit from it now that your plants are in the end of their life cycle but it worth a try. Don't think you'd be hurting anything if you did.

I just chopped all of the top buds today. I left the bottoms of the plants which is still alot of bud sites and gave them all some water with molasses. took a lot of them out as they were finished so I am down to 7 minis (everything except the main colas) and I took the MH light out. So now with the molasses and the tops being gone the bottoms should thicken up :) In 5 days Ill be back to the spot to check them again.
