Will Plant Last Until Feb. 1?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some helpful and experienced knowledge pertaining to my very 1st White Widow plant. It spent 4 weeks vegging. It's now 53 days into flowering. I've read this strain usually goes 65 days, but that not all WW are the same. So im not sure if that's a reliable basis. I've planned to harvest between Jan 30 and Feb 5. That would be between 64 and 70 total days. My only concern is the plant has nearly cannibalized all fan leaves. I'm worried it won't survive until the harvest period. How does it look and what should I do? Thanks 20160119_180035.jpg 20160119_180139.jpg

are you reading the seed banks like typical flowering time? thoses are usually completely way off
The seedbank was cannabisseeds.com and there was no recommended flower time given. I'm going off of the strain reviews and other members' grow journals even though their strain might come from a different seedbank

She is definitely not ready, look at all the white pistils, they will turn amber and most will recede into the buds, then you can start checking the trichs.

It won't be ready for at least a few weeks, big fan leaves dropping off is fine as the plant enters the final weeks of flower. Are you allowing the medium to dry between watering? As a plant finishes up, I've found that soil tends to stay wet longer making it easier to overwater.

53 day white widow, sounds familiar.,, avi seems familiar .,,

hmmm
try following the advice from yiur last thread. as its the same... you have a ways to go.couple weeks 3 weeks. ask again then
plants pretty unhealthy.. pls dont blame your pot, everyone growing in plastic pots isnt having issues. learn what yiu did wrong or youll just repeat it later.. you dont even have larf lower nugs. you have top buds, almost a cola and thats it. little trich production too. looks root bound, cold, and wet. if it continues thos base leaves are gonna extend to compensate for lack of fans and throw your buds. more veggie, pain to trim

if you really felt the need to feed, you could've always foliar fed

why wouldnt you have tried to fix before it got this far. now your worried if it will survive to harvest.

well good luck

sorry to be a little negative

@driel I'm letting it dry completEly between watering. Sometimes I have messed up but probably only 2 times.

@qwizoking I know I have a long ways to go and I'm sure there are lots of downfalls to my methods. But it is my first plant. The main thing I care about is just being able to smoke my product after harvest, i know it's not gonna be comparable to an expert gardener like most ppl on the site. I'm using a bunch of unreflected cfls. Could be why you think she looks shrimpy.

What nutrients are you using and at what rate are you applying them? Nitrogen toxicity can cause your plants to curl.

The leaf curl you're seeing from some of the bigger leaves is typically from over watering when I've run into it but it's usually fixed by giving an extra few days between watering. Reducing the amount of water you give is also an option to try so that you're watering more frequently but you give it enough water to wet your grow medium.

But it could also be that your plant is root bound. Your leaves grow first and then typically roots grow to support those leaves but if your roots have spun in the pot and have nowhere to grow, they can choke your plant and cause yellowing of the leaves and decrease your total yield. In some strains this ends up looking like leaf curl in the early stages. I've run into the dilemma of replanting to a bigger pot while in flower and if you have a container that could take it, perhaps consider replanting. First, you can try checking the roots by pulling the plant out of the container and having a look at the bottom and sides. If there's a massive white mass of roots, transplant it to something bigger. The negative of doing this however is that it potentially stresses your plant and can extend your grow time. This late into flower also means that the roots won't grow much to compensate and you may not even see the benefit of it for weeks by which point your bud may be done.

It's hard to say for sure since those brown spots are something I'm not sure of so if someone else has the answer, by all means let em know. I've grown in plastic pots and unless they're dirty, they're fine to use for an indoor grow like yours. You'll want better lights before getting better pots. Ignore whatever seed producers say for time period to grow, that comes down to the skill of the grower. sympathize with you lol.

@driel thank you for the kind words. I just recently ordered a 150w Mini Sunsystem hps grow light. I hope it works. I've tried many lights, and CFLs are the only I've been able to use due to Heat!

It don't look that bad man. I really can't even tell what kind of soil mix you got. It won't be a lot of bud. But, I think you will get a little bit of decent smoke off of it. Don't beat yourself up too bad. :bigjoint:

Flora grow is a veg nute. Not sure about that fox farms never used it. Scotts and MG soil will work. But you need to add lots of perlite. Maybe your soil is compacted as well, which may be part of the problem. I would just take it easy on the nutes and maybe back off to half strength. I wouldn't try to fix the plant. Just give it what it needs to mature those buds out. Next time if you're on the cheap, maybe try the Lucas formula and maybe a hempy bucket. It's cheap and easy. Check out this dudes thread.

It just doesn't get much easier than that. I just use 100% perlite anymore in my hempy bucket and Maxibloom powder in my Lucas formula.

Enjoy your bud man. It will smoke just fine I think. :bigjoint:

their strain might come from a different seedbank
That's like wanting to drink cola, then you have a selection of Coca Cola to Pepsi to Rc to Faygo and so on. There are vast differences and it all depends on the genetic pedigree of the particular breeders genetics that they used to develop the strain. Not all breeder's strains are created equal.
I blame the plastic pots.
No.
I'm switching to smart pots for my next crop.
Do yourself a favor and get some spinout pots. Just google it.
I'm using a bunch of unreflected cfls.

Have you looked into T5 lights at all?

If it helps I used a 4x2 tent, 400 watt hps with open hood and temps were 82 at the highest with the tops about 6 inches from the bulb. 72 degrees with the carbon filter running. Temps at night stayed around 70. I used plastic 3 gal pots 3 weeks veg with no problem.
