3 weeks old, they started great, then i filled a 5 gallon jug of pond water (spring fed). they didnt seem to like it.
so i tested the ph level it was over 8.5 (very high i know). (should have stuck with my tap water 6.8 ) 2 questions i have

1. as long as i know the ph level of water going into the soil (i understand u should test it after u add nutes as well, im not adding nutes right now) should the soil remain the same as the water i put in it?

2. should i and would u flush them?

I wouldn't bother flushing them. what you can do it's not the most accurate, find some decently normal 6.0ish tap water run it through your soil test the run off of the water through the soil, soil and water have 2 different ph scales and shouldn't ever be measured as one but if you don't have the molah to buy a soil ph tester this will work okay.
on the note of saying don't measure them together the ph of your water can affect your soil over time the fluctuation caused by stable water running through unstable soil is less then the fluctuation of unstable water running through stable soil

im guessing your growing outside?? just imo i would never use anything but tap water left out two days or distilled, ya never know whats in natural water and if the proper bacteria is in the bucket you scoop up you can cause disease and kill your plants....unlikely but no reason to risk it....now also ill say if your growing outside and in the ground you dont have to worry about ph so much test the soil once and if its good it will stay that way through a whole growing cycle, no need to test before then after nutes and all that your going to waste money and also get slightly different results and confuse yourself, if you really want to you can buy a stick reader cheapo crap thing for ten bucks and it will work good enough to tell you if you are good or not. also incase you dont know this (because this is the leading reason imo ppl start testing for ph) a few yellow leaves dropping here or their is totally normal and not a cause for concern....second question about flushing, well if its outside sure run another cleaner 5 gallon bucket through...if indoors idk why the hell u would give em pond water lol but unless they really start looking sick they should be fine until next watering day
