Hey so I just started growing and i planted it yesterday but i was doing some research and they said it takes atleast a 100 watt to grow for 1 plant im gorwing a northern light auto from vision seeds. I thought my cfl was 100 but its not and im broke atm until my next check 8 days... and the cfl i have is actually 65 watts and im getting nervous i have this 100 watt incandecent light and was wondering if i should use that along with my cfl until i get my another cfl? but once i did find that out i took it outside for the sun and been leaving it indoor with the cfl over night... sorry for bad grammar or whatever phone bout to die :(. thanks!

your fine for now ......starting plant 65 watt about 6-8 inches off top of the plant u are golden

the trouble with CFL is the light is only effective for about 12 15 inches .....they can grow weed but if the plant bushes out u add more to cover it the heat increases
since u are a auto flower u are good.....i would tell u to order some LEDs

http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GL100LED-Spectrum-Growing/dp/B013HGBVPG
i have that one worked good for my auto flowers ....infact i still use it for my Veggie stage now ....the light is good for 50k hours get that over CFLs u will get more weed from the plant and tighter buds

Did it sprout yet? If it hasn't sprouted then it doesn't need light.

Keep the CFL very close. 2 inches. Go around and take cfl's from other light sockets. The dollar or 99c store has bulbs cheap...

When they say you need 100 watts they mean TRUE WATTS. A 100w CFL is "100 watt equivalent". It's actually 23 wats. Your bulb is probably 15 watts. Y^ou need SIX 100 watt equivalents to grow a good plant. More would be better.

Do not try to use the incadecent. They are very very hot. That LED is probably a TRUE 150 watts. Works great for veg. For flower I don't think they do a good job.

If you can use the sun that would be best. They love the sun. just bring her in at night and put her under the lights.

If you mistreat an auto you will only get a quarter ounce. If you treat her just right you will probably get 2-3 ounces.

I do not think it has sprouted last night I checked and it hasn't it's been 3 days since planted but I did not germinate cuz ppl told me to much could go wrong so I'm guessing it will sprout tomorrow and I will get the led got any lights you like for flowering? Oh also im going to use advanced nutrient B-52 have you used it and if so you think I made a good choice?

B52 is vits for the plant it is used to help de stress them

and do not put it 2 inches from the plant .........cfls get up to 170 degrees 2 inches from the plant is to close

if this is your first time growing ......order yourself the Go box
http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Organics-Go-Box/dp/B004PS4B08/

that is the full line ....everything u need for 9 to 12 plants ( they have a plan on the side u can fallow ) ....it is organic so it will help keep the PH in the soil right ...as it is organic u do not need to worry about flushing it to get clean smoke

I disagree. I'm doing a cfl chucking grow right now and I've had the bulbs under 2 inch from the leaves this whole time. I'm sure strain and other factors play a part, but my leaves only burn upon contact. And one of the bulbs is a 250w equivalent.

Here's my advice. Don't do autos with cfls next time because you cannot scrog them and you have very little canopy control. Cfls can be effective but only with specific methods of plant manipulation. I recommend you focus a bit on making the most of the available light by providing a completely reflective environment. Make the canopy as even as you can by tying and bending and if possible, provide light for beneath the canopy. Get creative and you'll thank yourself when harvest day comes.

i don't think a 65 watt cfl would burn a leave unless it was touching it for a while

i also concur with everyone about the amount of light, your fine with that in early veg, if it grows tall and skinny, it wasn't enough light. if that happens, bury it a little deeper when you repot if you can

don't let anyone tell you cfls don't work!

I plus 1 on the ditch the CFLs and get an LED. Yeah they work. But, you're always having to mess with them or you got too may wires all over the place and fixtures. Yep. Guilty as charged. Been there done that.
