Will ice help reduce heat stress?

I'm growing hydroponically. No symptoms of nutrient deficiency, no light stress, just heat stress. I put some ice on top of the DWC medium.

When I grew hydro and I needed to lower reservoir temps, I would freeze water in plastic bottles and put those in the reservoir.

I'm wondering if its the outside temperature or the reservoir. Outside temp is 80F and 60%RH.

I’d be concerned about that for sure! I think I heard duke diamond ( I think ) on a potcast say that they do this as one of their methods of stress testing plants.

Maybe upgrade to some bigger outtake fans??.

idk. if outside temp is fine, then its probably the reservoir. i just added ice. we shall see how the plant reacts to ice.
I would recommend you measure the state of the system first, before you make a change action. Maybe res temp, but maybe not.

Clean looking setup BTW:leaf:

i added ice. no sign of root rot. roots are white and healthy. leaves have no nutrient deficiency. yeah pretty sure its heat stress.
