I have a box ive made that im going to grow in. I have lights and ventilation. Temps stay good and all that checks out. Ive reallized that when my lights are at their highest which is the grow box ceiling. They are only 30" from the scrog im going to use. The lights say to use them anywhere from 18-22 inches away. With a scrog will i be able to grow this plant easily. Or will it get too tall and i struggle with lots of light burn. How small height wise have you grown a plant? How do i keep it from getting too tall once the scrogg is filled?

hmm, i'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to leds, sorry about that, but i don't want to give you an answer when i'm not sure on that answer and end up giving you bad advice, mayabe someone else will chime in and help you out.

As far as I've read the blue spectrum is suppose to reduce stretch. Some people also suggested that reducing light cycle gradually from 18-4 to 12-12 can also reduce it, not sure if it's solid info or if it's worth the extra effort for you. I also vaguely recall things like heat stress or using too much p or k too early (not sure what one) can increase stretch. It may have been more about increasing node spacing but that could possibly equate to the same thing?. Check them out anyway to be sure.

The led forum will likely have the info you need on the light distance, if you don't get it here.

I haven't used that brand but I use a Mars 300 and I keep mine 14-18 inches away I haven't experienced any issues running it like that. you wanna keep it a little farther away until about the first feeding.

Read a little on led in the past, am I mislead to think one of the problems with it is actually the lack of stretch/node spacing?.

Both my grows have been compact and short, never really stretched at the beginning, might have after flower a good bit but that's always expected.
Here's how compact my current grow is she's feminized 60indica/40sativa F1 purple strain. the breeder also noted it was a very compact plant and node spacing as well.

I see, how tall do you typically expect a strain to get compared to hps?, If you've had that comparison.

Yeah thats what my plants look like. Very small internodes. Im wondering tho with a scrog could i keep this plant under 18" tall? Do you know?

keep the light as low as you can and that should keep it from stretching but neither of us could know for sure its up to the plant unless you lst. not impossible tho

If you are going to scrog the plant what is your worry? Bend the stems and get the plant spread out and then flip to flower before it starts to grow up through the scrog. It should work out fine. I don't think your going to get 15 inch long buds if your using even 600 watts because these vipar led's aren't pulling 300watts from the wall they are only pulling 130. So 2 of them your looking at about 260watts of actual pull on 2 vipar 300's. Not a ton of power for flowering. It will get you a harvest but I cant imagine that it would burn the tops even if they grow 15 inches up from the screen. If they do you still have 15 inches between your plant tops and your lights so you should be good.
