Will a stunted plant produce any good seeds?

I have a seed I misplaced and found several weeks ago from a dispensary bagseed , i wanna say from early last year and wanted to retain the terp profile. It wasn't properly stored in ideal conditions but after blessing it with some holy water its now growing but a little slow with tiny tiny preflowers.i was wondering if I breed this plant will the seeds grow regular or at a reduced pace? Its one of the most stinkiest gg4 I've ever smelled. anyone ever done this before? Grow out a stunted little runt just to breed in attempts preserve and retain terp profile and genetics and how did it turn out? Will the seeds be viable and grow and a regular pace even if it came from a funky plant or will it resemble the mama in terms of vigor?

They best strain I ever hunted was a shitty little Fem’d Buddha Tahoe OG that I almost didn’t even take to flower it grew so awful in veg. Subsequent clones rocked though and I did breed it with my Raul Duke (strawbwrry cough x blue satellite 2.2). I’ve only ran a few of those and they all turned out to be BS 2.2 pheno’s so far that grew strong and healthy.

From the a breeding standpoint I would run it again from clone, if she seems like a vigorous, healthy plant, breed her. but if she turns out to be a shitty growing plant from clone than I would pass, but keep the clone if you dig it. Remember an F1 cross is going to produce 25% plants like the mom 25% plants like the dad and 50% somewhere in between, bad in, bad out.

If you do decide to breed her I would look for something with GG4 already in there, theoretically this would give you a cross that’s 50% GG4 (assuming the seed you’re growing wasn’t self pollinated). If it was a self pollination this would give you something that’s 75% GG4. I’ve made a couple GG4 crosses myself, great strain.

So this is the plant in question. It's 2 months now and showing tiny miniature preflowers and only begun to show pistils just last week. Just the aroma of the stems alone is so loud even though there's barely anything on there.

I made a cross several years ago with a C99 clone that was super stunted trying to reveg. It wouldn't reveg, it just kept throwing out tiny weird growth for months. I kept trying because the mother I cut the clone from had awesome smell, flavor, and structure with good yield to boot. The clone never did go back to regular growth, and after months was only about 8 inchs tall. So I finally said fuck it and put it into flower and hit it with a male that I had selected from some SinMint Cookies seeds.

It ended up budding out okay, never got much taller though. It had about 100 or so viable seeds and half that many premature-looking ones. I grew some out and gave some out to friends and everyone that popped them got plants. I got 2 phenos that I kept for a while debating with myself between them. One was more like the mom the other more like the dad.

Your plant looks way more normal then I expected from your first post. It seems like it would make perfecetly fine seeds.

Your situation is different, you just had a plant that wasn’t revenging likely due to being sensitive to light conditions. It flowered out fine because it was a healthy plant that was stuck in a pre flowering state. It was likely not getting enough light to revert to veg but not getting the dark period needed to fully flower.

I’ve not seen any studies on this but from what I’ve observed; I believe this to be a trait of strains with genetics originating around the equator.

I don't remember now if it was 18/6 or 20/4, but it was right under a 400w light, which seems like it should have been plenty to reveg. It didn't really flower out normally, just ok, it never got any taller in flower, it never grew right. That seems like it was stunted to me. I know that's not the EXACT situation the OP was in but felt it was a relevant example of a stunted plant producing good seeds.

The OPs plant doesn't look like anything is wrong with it at all. It grew slowly as a young plant which could have just been because of the grow conditions or some simple over-watering. Now it appears to be healthy and is showing signs of maturity. I don't really see why it wouldn't produce perfectly normal seeds for the OP.

Los Angeles!
Damn I live 50 miles away in a town called riverside.

Also from the pics your plant needs more light I would suggest buying a cheap lux meter on Amazon and diling in your lighting. I hope you succeed in keeping these genetics alive I'm currently growing 3bagseed of zkittlez with my bro and We're so excited because the seeds came from a OZ of the best smelling zkittlez I've ever had
